Is there a link between fatiguing mental work, like analysis and imaginative thinking, and weight gain?
Increased thinking can enhance a person’s desire for food. As many may know, actual physical work is as tiring as mental work. Mental chore, according to studies, "destabilizes" insulin and glucose levels thus driving you to eat much more because of increase in appetite. There are various elements that point to a jump in appetite, and a lot of those are connected to the mind of an individual.
A leading mental factor is stress, which is prompted by mental challenges. Eating extra is likely caused by stress. Before, even I tend to eat a bit more when I'm stressed out. Once you let your guard down, this reply of your body to your state of mind will be instinctive.
Effects are the same with rats. A certain hormone called glucocorticoid steroid hormone, or cortisol in humans, is released by chronically stressed rats according to researchers. This in turn drives the rats to excitedly engage in pleasure-seeking behaviors. This involves ingesting high-energy foods that would eventually help them form abdominal obesity.
Unnecessary or too much eating will cause "belly fat" or abdominal obesity. Diabetes, stroke, and increased possibility of heart attack are just some illnesses and disease associated to abdominal obesity. Taking care of stress before it gets out of hand is more desirable than calming it with a greasy burger and a huge soda!
Boredom and loneliness are blamed by British researchers too. About 50 percent of adults eat in excess due to boredom and loneliness. Comfort foods, like junk foods and ice cream is to blame here. Large quantities of fat and other nasty stuff can be gained by consuming these foods!
Now that you know, it is time to be conscious of your hunger at the end of a hard day at work. You should eat, by all means, if you are beyond doubt feeling hungry. Just be certain that what you eat is healthy and would give your body with the essential nourishment. A properly balanced diet and a healthy regimen of day-to-day exercise is a positive hit to take your weight-worries away.
