The Only Single in the Group

Question: Within my circle of friends, all but one of us has a boyfriend. When we go out it's all the couples...and me. I love being with everyone but sometimes I feel so alone within the group. It's as if a spotlight is on me screaming "I'm the only one that doesn't have someone." What's the best way to get over this lonely feeling, not feel so separate and feel more comfortable going out with the couples? Why not start a ladies night so that you and are your girlfriends can go out without their significant others? I too am married and once a month a group of us women, married and single, head out to the hottest steak club in town for what we call "Hot Guy Steak Night." It gives us ladies a chance to connect without the men and is a great venue for our solo friends to meet new men. rnIf it is just you and everyone else is in two's don't be afraid to break off on your own. You may be surprise who you will meet if you walk over to the bar on your own or with one of your girlfriends. It's also a good idea to break up the evening so that your night does not revolve entirely on the meal and those around you. Find a fun spot where you and some or all of your friends can head to before or after dinner, so this way the focus will be bigger than just dinner and far less isolating.
