Have you ever had a bad day? Of course you have. We all have. In fact, Rhonda Byrne was having a bad YEAR. Her work wasn't going well, so she didn't have any money. Her father recently died. She was ready to give up. Then, out of the blue, her daughter handed her a book. Rhonda read it one evening, and then it came to her ... The Secret! She just knew her life was about to take a wonderful turn.
As soon as possible, Rhonda Byrne gathered her production crew to tell them about a feature-length film she had in mind. She had no budget, but she had faith, and she convinced her crew to have faith as well. She told them not to focus on the "how". They were only to focus on the outcome, a successful movie. Sometimes she caught herself thinking about the how rather than the outcome, and she would have to bring her mind back into focus.
One such time when focusing on the outcome paid off was toward the end of production when Rhonda wished she would've asked for close-ups of people during interviews. She could only afford one camera throughout production, so having a second angle wouldn't have been possible. One day two camera men accidentally showed up, so the second one decided to focus his camera on faces. The faces he captured were exactly the ones Rhonda wanted at the end of production!
Rhonda Byrne once said, "Faith is total heart trust without knowing with your mind." That's part of what the secret is all about, and part of why she began production on the movie without any money. She had faith in herself and chose to focus on the goal rather than how she would reach the goal.
You are what you think you are. When you say "I'm broke" or "I'm fat", you really are broke and fat. By focusing on statements like that, you become what you say. Focus your mind on positives. When you say, "I'm ...", make sure you end with something positive. Force yourself to become what you want to be without putting in nearly as much effort as you think it will take.
Life is all about challenges. Each of us face them everyday. The Secret helps people get past those challenges by filling their hearts with love. When Rhonda Byrne first started producing the movie, she was barely making ends meet. That didn't stop her from doing something the rest of us might consider crazy though. She withdrew her money from an ATM and started handing it to strangers on the street!
You have to have focus in order to have The Secret. Figure out what it is you really want, and then focus your mind on it like a laser beam. Ignore everything else. Rhonda wanted everyone to have access to this powerful mind game, so even before the movie began making money, she started giving away millions of DVDs to people in poor parts of the world.
To get what you want, you have to take action. It's one thing to focus your mind on something and ignore everything else, but focus isn't the end of the story. Take the marketing of The Secret, for example. No one will find out about a movie without advertising it (even if the advertising is by word of mouth), so Rhonda decided to market The Secret using only online trailers. Have focus, and take action! That's The Secret!
