Panic and anxiety attacks are quite common. The problem though is that many people don't even know that they have it or know what it is. This is not surprising because generally speaking, most doctors aren't trained to recognize mental illnesses. Unless you're lucky enough to specifically see a doctor trained for mental health issues, most doctors will run tests and conclude that there's nothing wrong with you.nnIt's not surprising that many of these patients go from doctor to doctor, sometimes for years. All tests are negative - in other words, there doesn't appear to be anything wrong - but there is.nnWith treatment panic and anxiety attack can be beaten. It is a serious condition in that you end up having a poor quality of life. This can lead to depression. Suicidal thoughts are quite common.nnIf you don't seek treatment, agoraphobia may set in. You become a prisoner. You have no freedom and rely on others for many things. In extreme cases, you might not even be able to leave home.nnTreatment Panic And Anxiety Attack OptionsnnPanic anxiety attacks and agoraphobia are treatable. There are many worthwhile options out there. Even alternative methods can have good results for some people. It's near impossible on your own, otherwise, you'd have beaten it by now. There's no 'magic pill' but hard work and using help.nnPlease remember that no matter what you use, seek proper medical help first. There is nothing wrong in using alternate remedies. Some people don't like drugs while others won't try anything else except drugs.nnPsychotherapy is also often used quite effectively. Those with agoraphobia who can't go out, don't worry. There are online counseling resources that offer services 24 hours a day.nnSetbacksnnOccasionally, you may experience a setback. It can and actually does happen. Be prepared, but don't worry. The most important thing is not to make previous mistakes, like letting it drag on again.nnThe advantage of psychotherapy is that you learn many things that you can apply long after therapy has stopped. So, if you get a setback, you know exactly what you have to do. In the end though, there is always something available to you.nnFor anyone reading this, if you or someone you know experiences signs and symptoms that cannot be explained, it doesn't go away and all tests are normal and you're told you're healthy, seek help from a psychiatrist. It's quite possible you may have a mental health problem. It's very treatable and you can end your anguish with proper help. Enjoy life, don't let it pass you by.
