I recently read an article that stated happiness was to be taught in universities as an experimental class. At first I couldn't believe what I was reading... that we now had to be taught happiness!
Surely happiness comes from within oneself?
Teaching happiness is like saying that you have no happiness and therefore must be taught it.
Although I was shocked, this event has inspired me to write about it and share my views. I'm a firm believe
that happiness can be found in the doing and not the receiving.
Happiness comes from within and cannot be found from exte
al stimuli. This may sound a little weird, but think about this for a moment... you want more money because you believe it will make you happy. Look back at your life and see what you've achieved.
You've achieved many goals, both big and small, yet they do not fulfill you, you are already wanting more.
Exte
al objects and things cannot bring you happiness because of their impermanence. They are short lived and can only bring you short spurts of joy, but not true happiness and fulfillment.
The happiness and fulfillment can only ever be found from within yourself. The journey of working towards achieving something is where happiness can be found. It's the journey that is all you ever really seek, not the stuff.
If it was the stuff that gave you fulfillment then why aren't you happy and fulfilled already? I'm sure you've achieved many goals and dreams before but the experience is short-lived and did not bring you what you thought you would get.
Instead of worrying about getting to your desires, relax into them and experience the ride in its fullest. Feel the joy of working towards achieving whatever it is you're wanting.
You'll soon be filled up to the brim with happiness!

“Weight-Train” Your Brain
I have a new cell phone. I didn’t want a new cell phone; I was perfectly happy with my 2020 cell phone, but it wasn’t happy with me. Its connector charging port was ailing. Failing, actually, the service tech told me. And besides, it was an old phone, what did I expect? Old? This to a woman who is more than content, read “thrilled,” to wear outdated fashions just because she likes them. And would willingly keep computers way past their supposed “shelf life.” Sigh. OK, fine,
