The new Christianity will include unselfish prayer, followed by not worrying whether or not the prayers will be answered. And God will be described as providing our building blocks, but it is up to us after that. And Christians will begin facing and accepting their destiny, and then taking charge of their destiny to improve it. These and other new principles will gradually influence the present ones of selfish prayer, that God is our caretaker and we are helpless without Him, and that God has an unalterable plan for us that we cannot change. Christians are going to become very proactive, and the sheep of yesterday who followed blindly will turn into perceptive and intelligent lions.

These lions will be different however. Instead of attacking non-Christians by trying to convert them, which can be a denial of the immense amount of work each Christian has to do on him or herself, and a diversion from the heavy lifting of making a fundamental change within themselves, the New Christian will take responsibility of becoming a true "work completed" instead of a perpetual "work in progress." No longer will they hide behind the perception of the weakness of men and women as an excuse not to perfect themselves. No longer will Christians be disliked, or even hated by other religions; Christians will be seen as the peacemakers, just like their founder, instead of feared crusaders.

The New Christianity will be a more mature representation of what I believe Christ was trying to teach - that we are responsible for our own destiny, and that we can alter that destiny by going within. Christ was way ahead of the Old Testament, He was a break from the Old Testament, but only recently are Christians beginning to catch up to what He was really saying. The new Christianity will be more in line with Christ.

And the world, which likes Christ, will begin to like Christians as well! The disparity between what Christ represented and what Christianity has come to represent will narrow appreciably.

Christians have simply not been given the means to make fundamental changes within themselves. The information is available, one only has to look at the deeper aspects of Christianity, for example the Christian mystics, but the masses have not been quite ready for that yet. They have been busy making music and socializing. This is changing however, as a groundswell of New Christians look for a vehicle to take them deeper. Keep an eye out for Christian churches and movements in this direction.

As a Catholic at one time, I could never figure out the disparities I found in my religion. When I compared the religion to what Christ was saying, or what I thought He was saying, it didn't make sense. Years later, my research indicated that the early Church fathers took great license with His words, and after that, I could no longer believe half of what the bible said. Then I ran across the Gnostic Gospels, which seem to be Christ's teachings before they were altered. This made sense to me. Elaine Pagels has provided deep insights into the Gnostic Gospels in her book, "The Gnostic Gospels." There are also numerous websites available when keying in "Gnostic Gospels."

The Gnostic Gospels indicate, I believe, that Christ was either horribly misunderstood by the original Church fathers, or that they watered down what He said, and altered it in order to attract masses of people. My research has shown that Christ never once said that He is God, and that the Church fathers added that later, purposely deifying Christ to attract more people to the religion. If this is true, then Christians understandably believe that their religion is truly special because of that one circumstance; that Jesus is God. All other prophets are mere mortals, and therefore the logic is that all other religions are worthless. This alone explains Christianity's self-righteousness and smugness.

If "God is within" was changed into "I am God." then the greatest hoax ever perpetuated upon humankind has occurred.

The new principles that will surface in the New Christianity have been around for a long time. As a matter of fact, the deeper aspects of all religions teach methods to delve into our souls. Up until now, however, the Christian masses were not ready to go that deeply, they were content to remain asleep and simply believe in God, and that like a father, He would take care of them.

This is all changing. A new consciousness is emerging in Christianity that will take the religion much deeper than the masses have taken it before. The luxury of remaining asleep and indulging in our worldly pleasures while mouthing platitudes toward God so that we can reserve our place in heaven is no longer viable. Not for the New Christian.

This will be a new awakening, and an exciting inner journey. It will begin, and actually has begun, as a grass roots movement, a changing consciousness withi
Christianity. The churches that embrace the New Christianity will flourish, as will the children of those churches. The ones that resist must eventually change, or they will fail, as they attempt to remain divided from the rest of the world and from what Christ taught, which I believe was love and peace, not separation, self-righteousness, and conceit. n

Manifesting. It's one of those words that people are using a lot thanks to the slew of new books, infomercials, and movies that proclaim that nothing is earned and nothing is worked for, rather things "manifest" in one's life - as long as they "ask" or "think" the right things. Want a car? Visualize it. Think about it. Feel it. And then ... *BAM* ... It will "manifest" in your life. How about a million dollars? No problem! Once again, visualize it and feel it, and then ... *P
