What is the most important aspect when using the Emotional Freedom Techniques in a stressful situation? After working a with a father-to-be, I found out his approach during that last week before the baby was born to be quite interesting. Whenever he felt that his wife, “Mary” was being unreasonable in her requests which sounded like demands to his ears at that stressful time. You may be surprised at his answer. He had a creative approach.
“Alfred” and I had done an EFT session for an hour a few months before. So, when the final week before the baby came out of the womb and in to the room, there was a lot of stress going on. Alfred had been finishing up last minute projects around the house and he felt stretched to the max. His wife was tired of having the baby inside of her. She was ready to have it on the outside--NOW. So, according to Alfred, she was not acting reasonable. (That is the way of it. Women are not reasonable at this particular time.) When Alfred felt that she was being unreasonable, he would get out of her sight, and he would start tapping (instead of getting into a squabble with her and making her wrong).
The only point that he could remember to tap was the top of his head, so, that is the only point that he used. He told me that he was pounding the top of his head like a drum, while he was loudly complaining about his wife's behavior. Since he made sure that he got out of her space, he was able to get loud, as he bit##ed and moaned and tapped the top of his head until it tingled.
The result? He was able to stay relatively calm, considering that his wife was having all her emotions and feelings while having their first baby at home. Fortunately she had used EFT to clear away all of her fears about birth, and after labor started, it only lasted six hours.
So, when I asked Alfred how did the birth go, he said, that it was his intent that made the difference. Even though he was too excited to remember any other points besides the top of his head, and that it ended up working like a charm. His intent was what made the difference.

Life Is Meant For Joy
With bills to pay, rent to cover, kids to corral, too much to do in too little time, especially with the Holidays upon us and all the extra stuff that needs tending, doing, paying for? Joy? Give it a rest. Well, I would, except joy is our basic nature. It’s what everything else we do is aiming for. Yes, money is nice, but why? For the joy it brings us in the form of comfort and/or giving to others. Success is grand, but why? For the joy of accomplishment, of expressing ourse
