The single most crucial system in your body when it comes to your health is supposed to be protected by an army. The problem is, for most of us... it's notnnWhen you were an infant you had an army of microorganisms lining every inch of your digestive tract from your mouth all the way down to your anus.nnThese organisms help produce large amounts of essential byproducts in the intestines which block out dangerous pathogens that can cause disease and infections.nnWhen you're health there are over 100 trillion of these from 400 different species flourishing and helping digestion, absorption and the production of large amounts of B vitamins and enzymes. But more importantly they crowd out harmful bacteria.nnThe problem is that the levels of beneficial bacteria significantly decline as you age.nnThis is caused by:n- Disruptions in the acid/alkaline balance in your bowels. These changes tend to favor the growth of harmful viral and fungal organisms and rotting.n- Non-steroidal anti-inflammotory drugs like Advil, Motrin and Midol are destructive.n- Chlorine in the drinking water doesn't just kill off bacteria in the water, but it is equally devastating to the beneficial bacteria in your intestines. n- Virtually all meat, chicken, dairy that you eat is loaded with anti-biotics kill it off. Organic meat is excepted from this.n- Constipation allows harmful bacteria to hang around and grow over the befecial bacterian- Cigarettes, alcohol, and stress are also major culpritis, as are some antibiotic herbs, such as goldenseal if taken sufficient amounts.n- Finally, if you've ever had "medicinal" anti-biotics you can basically kiss your beneficial bacteria good-bye. This allows mutant strains of harmful bacteria to emerge and to run rampant inside your body.nnBecause of diet and neglecting fasting and the colon, the average American has about 5% of the beneficial bacteria that a healthy person has.nnIn fact, many researchers now believe that declining levels of friendly bacteria in the intestinal tract may actually mark the onset of chronic degenerative diseases.nnThe benefits you'll get from optimizing your beneficial bacteria in your intestine include:n- Lowered Cholesteroln- Inhibition of Cancern- Protection against food poisoningn- Protection against ulcersn- Immune System enhancementn- Protection against Yeast infections & Virusesn- Preventing & Correcting Constipation and many other digestive tract dysfunctionsn- Improvement of Skinn- Better Nutrition through improved absorption and internally generating B VitaminsnnThere can be no true health or recovery from disease even unless you have the colonies of over 100 trillion beneficial microorganisms flourishing in your digestive tract and helping with digestion, absorption, crowding out the bad guys and producing the significant amounts of vitamins and enzymes.nnWhat you need to donnGet a good probiotic:nn- Make sure that it has recognized super strains. They will have them on the label and if they don't identify them then don't buy it.n- Check for the die off rate. They die fast and you'll want to refrigerate it when you get it to slow down the die off rate.n- You'll want a formula based off these 2 organisms: L. acidophilus & Bifodobacterian- Eating yogurt does not really help. Unless you make your own. Most yogurt you can buy is pasteurized after the yogurt culture is put in it. This destroys the benefits that yogurt inherently has. Also that types of bacteria are not the most beneficial to begin with.n- A diet high in complex carbohydrates like fruits, grains, and vegetables promotes the growth of Bifidobacteria.n
