Ureaplasma Urealyticum (m.urealyticum) is the only species in the genus Ureaplasma. It is named because it needs urea for growth. The incubation period is 1-3 weeks. The typical acute symptoms are similar to other gonococcal genitourinary infections, such as urethral tingling, urgency, frequency and pain, especially when the urine is concentrated. The urethral orifice is slightly red and swollen, and the secretion is thin and small. It is serous or purulent. It is necessary to squeeze the urethra to see the secretion overflow. There is a small amount of mucinous secretion at the urethral orifice in the morning, or only the scab membrane is sealed, or the dirty crotch is seen. Most of the female patients had genital inflammation with the cervix as the center. Most of the patients had no apparent symptoms, and a few of the severe patients had a vaginal drop. When the infection extended to the urethra, frequent urination and urgency of urination were the main symptoms that attracted the patients' attention. The disease was confined to the cervix. Its typical symptoms are increased leucorrhea, turbidity, cervical edema, hyperemia or surface erosion. Sometimes, the infection can spread to the urethra and showed flushing, congestion and squeezing of the urethral orifice. People can see a small amount of secretion. M .urealyticum is mainly transmitted through sexual life, which is more common in the period of young sexual abundance, especially after unclean sexual intercourse. After infected, most patients have no apparent symptoms, so it is difficult to be detected. And it is easy to cause doctors to miss the diagnosis. M.urealyticum can invade urethra, cervix and vestibular gland, causing urethritis, cervicitis and massive vestibular gland inflammation. Ascending infection can cause endometritis, pelvic inflammation, salpingitis, especially salpingitis. N.M.urealyticum is an essential cause of female infertility. According to the data, the infection in cervical mucus and semen of infertile couples is as high as 50%. Thus, it can be related to the occurrence of infertility. Another cause of M.urealyticum is miscarriage. The positive rate of the infection is over 40% in abortions. Therefore, unexplained abortion should be considered in patients, especially for multiple abortions. The disease caused by incomplete obstruction of oviduct inflammatory adhesions can make the lumen narrow, unobstructed, creating a cause of ectopic pregnancy. After pregnancy, due to progesterone's increase, cellular immunity is inhibited and the body resistance is decreased. Therefore, women are more likely to be infected. Perinatal infection caused by M.urealyticum is a new problem faced by modern obstetrics. M.urealyticum can be transmitted vertically through the placenta or spread upward from the lower genital tract infection of pregnant women, causing intrauterine infection. Both of them can lead to abortion, premature delivery, intrauterine growth retardation, low birth weight infants, premature rupture of membranes, and even cause a series of adverse consequences such as fetal death. In the delivery process, the fetus is also easily infected when delivered through the birth canal. Common are neonatal ophthalmia, followed by neonatal respiratory tract infection, and other otitis media, pharyngitis and so on. M.urealyticum in the male genitourinary system can "hitchhike" into the female's reproductive tract with sperm, causing endometritis, salpingitis, ovaritis, membranous inflammation, spontaneous abortion and intrauterine stillbirth, etc., thus affecting fertility. The couple should be tested for M.urealyticum before pregnancy. If there is an infection, they should be pregnant again after cure. Secondly, early detection of pregnancy should be treated in time to avoid damage to the fetus if the test is positive. Non-pregnant women can take antibiotics for treatment or choose herbal medicine Fuyan Pill without side effects and recurrence. M.urealyticum is a sexually transmitted disease, and there are also secondary infections. Therefore, both husband and wife should pay attention to sexual health.
