Har Ki Dun is one of the ravishing valley in the Gharwal region of western Himalayas. It is at an altitude of 1165ft above sea level. The Valley is surrounded by snow-capped mountains, alpine forests, and colorful flowers. This trek has an amazing view of mountains and wildlife sanctuary scattered in a large area. Himalayan peaks that can be spotted are the Swargarohini Group of Peaks, Kala Nag, Bandrapoonch and many more. You will be stunned by the hospitality of locals and the great opportunity to experience their culture. How to reachrnBy Road: To reach Dehradun you have to take bus from Delhi, after reaching Dehradun opt for a local bus to Sankri; which takes 8-9 hours to reach. By Rail: Dehradun railway station is well connected with main cities like Delhi, Chandigarh, Kolkata, etc. By Air: Jolly Grant Airpot is the nearest airport to Dehradun, offers daily connectivity with Delhi and other major cities also. Best time to visitrn Har Ki Dun can be visited all around the year, it really depends which whether you want to experience. The best time to visit the valley for experience snowfall is the end of November to April. In May and June, you will be experiencing the pleasant weather with greenery and blooming flowers. In July and August, the region receives heavy rainfall; therefore, it is advisable not to visit during the Rainy season. About the trekrnSankri is the starting point for the trek, distance between Dehradun to Sankri is 200km, which takes 8-9 hours to reach. Sankri to Taluka is 12km and once you reach Taluka, the trail begins through a dense forest of alpine, chestnut and walnut trees. The trekking route from Taluka to Seema is on the right side of the Supin River. You will be crossing wooden bridges over Streams.rnOsla is a traditional village with lovely peoples, from Osla to Har Ki Dun it is 12km; once you cross the wooden bridge Supin River will greet you in the way. The further path is steep which will take 1 hour to cross passing by the lush green meadows. Once you have reached Kalkati Dhar there will change in scenery and the trail will become gentle, after walking for some time you will spot Hata Peak. Har Ki Dun is situated at the foot of the Hata peak offering the enchanting view of camping site with the river flowing nearby. Wake up early to spot the rising sun behind the Swaroghini peaks. Spend your time at the valley and then descend back to Osla village. While descending back from Har Ki Dun, trekkers also choose to stay and spend some time at Osla village due to its interesting mythological history that attracts many tourists. Experience the culture and hospitality of the village and then walk towards Taluka. From Taluka back to Sankri.
