Heart AttackrnHeart attack is the term given to a situation where heart muscle does not have enough blood supply and oxygen and that muscle dies due to lack of oxygen supply to heart. There are various scientific names given to heart attack such as myocardial infarction, cardiac infarction, and coronary thrombosis. In major cases cardiac arrest happens when a blood clot occurs and stops blood supply to the heart muscle eventually resulting in death of heart muscle. Various symptoms of heart attack are profuse sweating , vomiting , restlessness, pale yellow skin, nausea etc.But not every time will a person feel pain or the symptoms above , some time heart attack occurs very silently , we call it silent heart attack, with no pain at all , old age people and diabetic people are more prone to silent heart attack. There can be many causes if heart attack as old age, obesity, diabetes, alcohol, smoking, high blood pressure, increased cholesterol levels, sedentary life style etc.rnChances of heart attack can be reduced by having good heart diet, what healthy diet consists of is diet with reduced fat and low salt. A certain amount of fat is good in a balanced diet but reducing the amount of fat in day to day diet is a good and healthy idea. Saturated fat which is found in ghee, oil etc affects blood cholesterol levels, so to reduce the intake of full fat dairy products and other food items with preservatives such as cake, pastries, burger, cookies etc.you can replace it with mono saturated fact which is found in olive and nuts etc.Reduce the amount of salt in your food, consuming too much salt increases blood pressure and high blood pressure is one of the important reason of heart attack. Avoid putting salt after the food is cooked .Regular exercise reduces the chances of getting heart attack and keeps blood pressure under control. Include more leafy vegetables, fruits and carbohydrates in your food. Beans pulses are rich sources for the same .Quitting smoking, consumption of alcohol will instantly contribute to healthy heart. It will dramatically cut your chances of getting heart attack. rnWe need to focus on our present health habbits in order to have safe and healthy future. We need to inculcate good eating habbits among our children from a very early age in order to save them from these deadly diseases. Advise and give your children’s green leafy vegetables to eat, avoid and restrict them, from colas and soft drink, develop their habbit of eating home cooked food than having fast food or junk food, reduce the intake of sugar in milk etc.Motivate your children to exercise daily and participate in sports activities in school and college. Maintain a good weight, avoid over weight. Limit watching television and promote more outdoor games involving physical activities. Prepare a special time table for your kids which include everything from exercise to eating habbits, details of the food to be consumed in a day. This will help them to develop healthy eating habbits and eventually healthy life.
