So you've been using the same computer for a few years now and seen it slowing down, as well as having difficulty loading several programs at once. As computers often do, they become filled up with junk, unused documents and programs that simply remain unused.
As a result of this, even the most basic of requirements like running two programs side-by-side can cause a significant slowdown, as well as causing overheating within the machine, which will deteriorate the innards of the machine, leading to a potentially major malfunction.
You can prevent any harm to your machine by following these simple tips that are inexpensive, quick and highly effective. These are laptophire.com's top factors for getting the most out of your office computers:
1. Exte
al hard drives - Regardless of the work that the office does, it is of utmost importance to regularly backup documents and important data in case of a computer problem. This can quickly achieve with the use of an exte
al hard drive, the majority of which are sold cheaply and offer more than enough space. This is the ideal method of securing documents for use on other computers in the future.
2. Use a second router. Modern companies will spend a lot of their time online; whether researching, writing or trading, the web is a major factor for many businesses. Consequently, this can cause heavy traffic on a single router, which leads to a decrease in speed. Using two routers, however, you can afford yourself faster internet, greater security, a backup (if one router malfunctions) and increase wireless network reach.
3. Delete old files and de-fragment your system - Workers are typically required to install a number of programs, some of which are only to be used only once and not needed again. Even when not used for some time, some programs will open themselves at start-up, which can often take up a lot of RAM - these can quite easily be uninstalled or disabled on start up. Navigate to the start-bar, click on control panel and then the uninstall icon, or for start-up configuration, open the run box and type msconfig.exe, then navigate to the start-up tab and un-tick anything that shouldn't be running.
4. You may want to have a central hub. In most cases, a computer will run slowly because it does not have enough memory, so it could be a good idea to have central computer and then connect this to the individual computers. This central computer would have enough memory to operate all computers and it would be much more efficient. This would then allow you to connect to the central computer using a tablet device, e.g. an iPad. And then you could look into macbook rental as a mac could still be used as a desktop computer.
5. Keep desktop screen clear, imagine your desktop screen as your worktop. You will be able to work at a better pace and more easily if you keep it clear. Keep all folders well organised - you could also sort them with dated folder. This will not produce a great speed increase for your computer but it does make retrieving and browsing documents a great deal easier.
6. Install the latest Operating Systems. Whilst this can often be an expensive option, keeping the OS of your computer updated can provide a significant benefit. Software is upgraded frequently to work better with new operating systems, so ensure that you are running the latest versions.
There are a plethora of methods with which to increase the speed of computers - some costlier and harder to install; however all are worth it as they will simplify work and boost productivity and employee morale.
