The Future Leaders in Philanthropy project is based out of Gibraltar and focuses on young people currently undertaking their final years of school, and their first year of university. Set up by the Bonita Trust, who already maintain another project focussing on school children in Gibraltar, and in combination with Credit Suisse, this project benefits both its participants and one or more philanthropy charity.

rnSelecting 20 students for each project, and working alongside their education, this project demands its participants to contribute their time and energy into a selection of activities geared toward philanthropic giving. The purpose of this work is to develop the participants own skills, as well as raise money for a particular philanthropy charity . The Bonita Trust will then match what the participants raise and make a full contribution to the chosen charities.

rnThe charities which benefit, are chosen by the participants, but since the project began, it has contributed to a wide variety of causes, many of them medical, but also some of the more mainstream causes, and so there is no specificity or discrimination when it comes to which charities receive support, it simply comes down to who the participants choose.

rnThe programme of activities undertaken by the participants of the project is set out by the organising bodies into three stages, each designed to develop their organisational skills and financial management skills. This kind of experience will then contribute to the development of these individuals when it comes to later life and equip them to make a difference in their own communities.

rnThe educational quality of this project then becomes clear, as from reading through this website anyone can see how the programme is designed specifically to educate its participants in the fields of finances, and investment, particularly as regards charities. which will therefore assist them at a greater level further on in their careers.

rnThrough this activity and learning then, these participants get far more out of this kind of philanthropic giving then by simply making a monetary donation, they receive experience, skills, education, as well as a developed ethical code, and possibly a fresh outlook when it comes to how charity work and philanthropy is perceived in mainstream society.. Throughout the project, there are various incentives provided, in order to maximise the experience that each participant gets out of the programme.

rnFrom looking over this entire website then, anyone can get a full picture of how the project works, as well as how it is funded, what kind of work they do, as well as the advantages given to both participants and beneficiaries.
