he circulatory system is an amazing network containing over 60,000 miles of blood vessels. In the center of this system is the heart, which is weighs about 11 ounces and is the size of a fist. The heart is like a double pump organ. The right side sends blood to the lungs. There carbon dioxide is removed and oxygen is added. The blood is then pumped through the heart again to be distributed throughout the body. This action takes place every 20 seconds. If the heart stops pumping, the result is death. The blood carries essential nutrients and oxygen to every part of the body.
The lymphatic system is the other branch of the circulatory system. It is like a secondary transport system. After the blood pressure forces the blood through the arteries and veins, there are many particles left that are still valuable to the body. The lymphatic system distinguishes and collects these particles and mixes them with plasma. This forms lymph. The valuable contents of lymph are recycled in the lymph nodes and are sent back into the bloodstream. Illness is often present when the lymphatic system becomes overly clogged with waste products.
There are three main reasons for problems with the circulatory system and the heart. They are: hypertension (high blood pressure), high levels of cholesterol and triglycerides (bloodfats) in the bloodstream, and smoking. Some other factors may include stress, being over-weight, and heredity. To maintain healthy circulatory and lymphatic systems, the human body requires regular exercise, pure water, excellent nutrition, and stress management.
Every year there are over one million heart attacks in the United States. With simple dietary modifications, like eating much less meat, greasy foods, sugar, and processed foods - PLUS consuming more fiber, fresh fruits and vegetables, and whole grains - AND daily exercise (especially walking), Americans would be healthier, live longer and enjoy an increased quality of life. Of course, STOP SMOKING EVERYONE!
NUTRITIONAL SUPPLEMENTS for the CIRCULATORY & LYMPHATIC SYSTEMS
ORAL CHELATION PRODUCTS - a really good oral chelation product is comprised of high dosages of vitamins, minerals and amino acids which offer support to the circulatory system. If taken frequently throughout the day it works like a "roto-rooter" to clean out the veins and arteries.
CARDIAC GLANDULARS - are designed to strengthen the heart muscle, support and rebuild the heart muscle and slow down wear and tear on the heart. (Companies and quality do vary.)
FLAX SEED & OMEGA 3 EPA FISH OILS - lower cholesterol and triglyceride levels in the bloodstream. Flax oil makes human platelets (blood clotting cells) less sticky, so that they pass effortlessly through the arteries and veins, but are ready to block tears in the blood vessels (and skin) if necessary.
CO-ENZYME Q10 (Co Q10) - increases oxygen utilization; a catalyst to help cells reproduce properly.
HERBS
Butcher's Broom - a natural blood thinner (only use on a temporary basis).
Garlic - contains volatile oils which, when consumed on a regular basis, can lower triglyceride and cholesterol levels in the bloodstream.
Ginkgo Biloba - supports the circulatory system and is especially good for cold hands and feet.
Gotu Kola - circulation to the brain, brain tonic.
Hawthorn - normalizes blood pressure by regulating heart action; used over a period of time it will lower blood pressure.
HOMEOPATHICS & CELL SALTS
Kali Phosphoricum, Calcarea Phosphoricum - for poor circulation.
Cuprum Met. - cramping of the calves and feet, worse at night, circulation.
Secale - cold hands and feet, circulation.
To your continued good health,
