Ever had a bad day and wanted to immerse yourself in something other than reality? Recently, so many things have happened in my life. I have found myself needing an hour or so to remove myself from the chaos. So, I decided to pick up a good book. Aside from the given advantage of learning, reading benefits your brain and your mood in many ways and can truly help you find a small escape when you need it most. For me, and for a majority of people I have come across, the thought of sitting down and reading isn’t always that exciting and the idea of watching TV is much more appealing. However, while this may be the case, I have found that reading allows me to completely immerse in a different world. Reading has given me the ability to escape some of the chaotic realities going on. I have also learned that with a good book, you are never alone. When I say there is a book out there for you, trust me. There is! It isn’t always the easiest task to set out and find a book that fits your taste. But the sooner you start looking, the sooner a book will fall into your lap. Another reason you should introduce page flipping to your daily schedule is, it creates a sense of accomplishment. Remember when you were younger and you were thrilled when you get closer to the back cover? Well guess what? That feeling hasn’t gone away. I could go on and on about why you should set out to find yourself a good book: you sleep better after you read, you aren’t tempted to look at your phone like you are when you watch TV, you get a chance to immerse yourself in a different world for a little while. It is important in life to find things that bring you simple pleasures and with reading, you are developing a healthy mind, so go give it a try!
