A Mother and Her Relation With Her Children

By the time God made mothers, he was into the sixth day working overtime. Suddenly an angel came and asked, “Why are you spending so much time on this one?”. God replied, “Have you read the spec sheet on her? She has to be completely different from other living beings. Has to be completely washable, but not elastic; run on black coffee and leftovers; has a lap that can hold three children at a time; have a kiss that can heal anything from a scraped knee to a broken heart”. The angel again said, “This is too much work for one day. Can’t you do it tomorrow?”. God said, “This creation is very close to my heart. She can heal herself when she is sick and can feed a whole family on a pound of hamburger only”. Out of curiosity, the angel moved closer and touched the woman, “Oh! It’s so soft. But god she is so soft that even a wind can cause great harm to her”. God smiled and replied, “She is soft, but at the same time tough too. Her determination can change even the natural laws also”. Suddenly the angel noticed some water drops into the woman’s cheek and said, “I told you that you are putting so much into her. See, there is a leak in the model”. God objected, “That’s not a leak; that’s a tear. The tear is her way of expressing her joy, sorrow, disappointment, pain, loneliness, grief, and her pride”. The angel impressed, “Oh God you are a genius. You thought of everything for this one; you even created the tear”. Good looked at the angel and replied, “I afraid you are wrong again. I created the woman, but she created the tear”. A woman is really the best creation of God. She plays multiple roles in her lifetime- daughter, wife, mother and grandmother. Her best role is considered to be a mother where she bears the child in her womb for nine months and after so much of pain gives birth to a new life. A mother is the first friends, philosopher and guide of a child. The child learns all the basic skills of life from the mother. Love, compassion and patience are the basic three skills that every mother has. The relation between the mother and the child also plays a vital role in the developmental process of the child. If this relation has a sound basis, it can protect the child from any evil forces. In modern times, kids often walk into destructive ways because of lack of guidance. So it becomes the prime responsibility of the mother, and in a broad sense of the parents to provide proper guidance and support to the children. Being a mother you should always be soft as well as tough to your children. If your child shows any annoyed behavior, don’t overlook it. If you don’t stop such behavior in the early age, it may turn out to be a habit later in life. While talking with the children, parents should always make the kids understand their viewpoint; but this should not involve any kind of threatening or physical punishment.
