A Three Week Guide To The Sri Lanka, Complete Places Of Interest In Sri Lanka ListÂ
After Seeing some stunning beach photos of Sri Lanka, in a Magazine Me and my husband decided to Travel to the island. We arrived to Colombo midnight, so we call it a day take good nights sleep. After relaxing sleep we start to explore the Colombo City. When talking about places of interest in Sri Lanka Colombo has some impressive spots including museum, Colonial building, Galle face green, Independence square are some of them. Colombo also has some beautiful temples Gangaramaya, Sambodhi is main two. In the next morning we take the express train to Galle. The South coast railway line provided beautiful sea view through the journey.
Unesco Heritages, Beaches And Wild Life
Gale fort is UNESCO world heritage still standing tall after 500 years. Even 2004 tsunami can't did a thing to this. It's almost on the everyone's places to visit in Sri Lanka list for sure. Narrow roads, colonial buildings, beautifully constructed cafes are the main attractions. After that we headed to Mirissa next day, famous for surfing and whale watching , you can see blue whales and dolphins here. Tangalle is another beautiful beach offers wide beaches with spectacular views. Tangalle, still less crowded beach you can enjoy calmness here. The next day we visit Yala national park , less than hour away from Tangalle, home to the famous leopards and elephants and also bunch of wildlife. Nice experience if you love wildlife.
High Mountains In Sri Lanka And Sigiriya, Polonnaruwa Another Places Of Interest In Sri Lanka
After satisfying week in beaches we reached to the high mountains in the paradise, Ella. One of the most beautiful mountain towns in the island. Ella rock, Little Adam's peak, Nine arch bridge, Rawana falls are the main attractions and we witnessed them all. This place is filled with green and some times mist too. You will feel you are walking in the clouds. After two days in Ella We hop in to the train from Ella station to witness the most beautiful train ride in the world. Train journey is amazing and we almost filled our cameras with amazing pictures. We Skipped Kandy due to the limited time we have, anyway it have lot to see and also famous for day tours. From Kandy we get off the train and took a car to the ancient city of Polonnaruwa.
We visit Polonnaruwa old city and wander through the ruins using bicycles. And city ride is amazing we see king's palace, Hindu temples, Buddha statues etc. Next day wee took a hike to Sigiriya Rock fortress which is situated near to the Polonnaruwa. Sigirya is bit of a steep hike but the hike is totally worth when you get to see amazing view from top. After that we traveled to Negembo from train Instead of Colombo. Negembo is a another beach town one of the places of interest in Sri Lanka. It is Just 20 minutes away from airport. We enjoy the cool breeze till our plane arrived. Negembo is a another place hotels providing day tours in the island. In a conclusion I can say Sri Lanka is worth a visit ,there lot of Places to visit in Sri Lanka and also lot of them are untouched so you can get natural fresh experience from lot of places.
