Located in the east of Greater London, the town of Barking is a part of London Borough of Barking and Dagenham. It is usually considered as a part of London due to its close proximity of 9 miles from the cosmopolitan city of London. The town is divided into two different areas only to differentiate new and old Barking town. One side of the town is called Barking Town Centre while the other is Barking Riverside. Fishing has been a major profession of the people of Barking in the past however today, the town is full of diverse professions and businesses.
