Until today medical researchers were not really sure about the main menstrual disorders causes. However they all agree that nutritional deficiency and hormonal imbalance is playing a large role in causing pms symptoms.

Since the experts are not really sure about the one major reason causing pms symptoms we need to focus on the ones that have already been proved to be having an impact on our body. Like we mentioned earlier, experts have found that nutritional deficiency and hormonal imbalance are behind the undesired pms symptoms, and for this reason, we will focus on these factors, and try to find out how to prevent them.

After all, the majority of pms symptoms is due to one these two factors. If we can prevent these two key players, that means we can also prevent their symptoms as well.

Many of us haven't really focused on that preventing the symptoms than quick pain relief solution comes with pain relief medicines. This is main reason we keep experiencing PMS symptoms.

What is the cause of hormonal imbalance and how to prevent them?

First, you need to know that women's ovaries produce a combination of hormones including estrogen, progesterone and testosterone during the menstrual cycle. These hormones fluctuate and help regulate a women's menstrual cycle during our reproductive years. When estrogen becomes the dominant hormone and progesterone becomes weak, hormonal imbalance takes place.

On the other hands, when estrogen becomes the dominant hormone and progesterone is deficient, the estrogen becomes toxic to the body, since progesterone is the antidote to the harmful effects of estrogen creating greater hormone balance. Having a correct hormonal balance between estrogen and progesterone is very crucial to the women's body.

There are several things that can trigger estrogen dominance.

For example there is the stress, environmental estrogen, hormonal therapy, pills, non organic products, the products that made out of estrogen pumped animals.

In order to avoid an excessive level of estrogen we need to be more health conscious, consume more organic foods and avoid using estrogen mimickers in the form of chemicals (xenoestrogens).

We also need to avoid foods and plants (phytoestrogens) that mimic the action of estrogen produced in cells and can alter hormonal activity.

At the end having PMS symptoms isn't our body's fault. But the environment, the various medecines and foods that we consume are the main reason why we have these pms symptoms.
