When the World Trade Towers collapsed on September 11th, everyone in New York City was coping with grief, loss, trauma, injury, shock and disbelief, ... or knew someone who was.
For the rest of the country, for those of us watching from afar, there was another role offered: that of witness to tragedy, and participant in sending prayers of hope or compassion for those who suffered.
Iran now offers the world a similar spiritual opportunity. We can either watch, transfixed by the news, by Twitter street jou
alism, by cellphone video broadcasts, as violent events unfold for Iranians ... or, we can turn inward.
Turning inward, each of us can breathe into our heart, strengthening it. "I love my heart!" We can then use this internal wireless commications system to broadcast LOVE across the world to all Iranians. "May love surround you. May love guide you. May love live life, through you. It can be sent to the people on the street. To their leaders (elected or not).
Love those who perpetrate violence on women? Love the abuser?
As a target of love, everyone is vulnerable to an *awarkened* moment. In that moment, will they make a decision, or take an action that saves a life, or affirms a right to dissent? Bombarded by love, will they make the choice to compromise?
Will we be successful? The daily news will report our spiritual progress toward peace in Iran.
Are you willing to be a part of this great shift of consciousness in Iran? In North Korea? Please let me and others know, here. And if you have a mantra or prayer that you would like to share, please post it here as well.
Blessings!
