Aarupadai Veedu  medical college was started in the year 1981 by Thirumuruga Krupananda Variyar Thavathiru Sundara Swamigal Medical Education and charitable trust, where the motion of the trust was to contribute the quality education to the society. The trust was founded by Dr. A ShanmugasundramrnInitially, Aarupadai Veedu Medical College Pondicherry was affiliated to Pondicherry University.
