These are questions with very individualized answers. Each of us are on a different path throughout our jou
ey of life and we all have experiences that have helped to create who we are right now. Our perception of these experiences is what makes us feel stuck in the proverbial rut; feeling stuck and perhaps stagnant. Well, it is through the way we view past events that we can move into a position of acceptance. Acceptance of ourselves, our physical body, our mind, and career choices. But acceptance can be a hard thing to swallow! And it absolutely will not happen over night, or even over two nights or two fortnights!
There are many dictionary meanings to the word ACCEPTANCE:

Acceptance is
1) “A written or verbal indication that someone agrees to an invitation.”
Are you ready to agree to your own invitation to move forward?
2) “The willing receipt of a gift or payment.”
Learn to graciously receive the gift of acceptance of yourself!
3) “The willingness to believe that something is true.”
Once you believe in yourself, a whole new world opens up.
4) “The realization of a fact or truth resulting in somebody’s coming to terms with it.”
At first accepting yourself may feel very foreign to you, but in time you will indeed come to terms with it!
5) “The tolerating of something without protesting.”
If it does feel foreign to you at first, begin by tolerating the thought. Through toleration comes the creation of new habits… you will accept without doubt, be patient! (Meditate daily)
6) “The willingness to treat somebody as a member of a group or social circle.”
Oftentimes we are the most critical of those we are closest to, who could be closer than ourselves than we are? Be nice to yourself. Talk to yourself as if you were a stranger, we often treat strangers better ourselves. Be willing to treat yourself as you would want others to treat you.

Start this process of self acceptance by answering this question:
What do you do for yourself to create peace in your life?
You need to be willing to take the time to create peacefulness through meditation and providing your physical body with a lot of fresh water every day. The amount of water we need depends on or body weight. Take your weight and divide that number in half. That is how many ounces of water you should be taking in every day. (Check with your doctor before drinking large amounts of water.)
Another secret to encourage acceptance: Do you travel to and from work with the radio blasting? Some people do this to drown out their inner voices and negative self talk. Be willing to turn off your radio and just listen to your self talk. Contradict it. Correct it. Tell yourself you ARE worth it! This exercise will speed up your acceptance process. In order to change your way of thinking about yourself, you’re going to have to face yourself and that little voice!
You can learn to accept your past and appreciate the person you’ve created yourself to be! But first you must desire the change…
