In the last few articles, we’ve discussed how the mechanism of belief – not the belief itself – is what catalyzes The Law of Attraction, via the Subconscious Mind. However, as you begin increasing your consciousness and testing different beliefs, you’re going to notice that some beliefs and perspectives are blatantly more accurate than others. What this means is that sometimes the beliefs you test will be congruent with True Reality (how reality actually works), and others will be so off that you won’t be able to NOT notice it. For instance: social conditioning has a majority of people on this planet adopting the belief in an Objective Reality, completely independent of the individual. This belief is proven false when you start becoming conscious of the fact that your thoughts and feelings absolutely do have a creative effect on the reality around you. Thus, if you’re actually searching and striving for truth, you’d have to admit that the standard Objective Reality model does not take into account sufficient data to be a 100% accurate belief. It gets some things right, but fudges on others. This is not a good lens to be viewing through! The majority of people on this planet do not take into account the impact, influence, and workings of The Subconscious Mind. Remaining ignorant to the science of that particular area allows people’s unconscious beliefs to essentially dictate their lives. Couple this with few people understanding how The Law of Attraction actually works – and you have masses of people operating within a sea of additional variables they aren’t even aware of. There are more cards in the deck than you’ve been told about! Remember Jung’s famous words: “Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.” You might then make the mistake of assuming a purely Subjective Reality is what’s going on here, and throw caution to the wind. You may get some speedy results due to your new belief initially, but then the reality of reality will kick in, and the boundaries of what you’re actually able to influence becomes obvious. Those results are due to you shedding the false and limiting beliefs you carried before, but you’ll only get so far with your new belief system until you hit a snag. You can’t control other people, thus you can’t say your thoughts truly 100% create everything around you. A good belief system would take all of the above into account, and recognize that this reality is a balancing act between subjective interpretation, and objective influence and interaction with the current level of reality you’re occupying. It’s like having eye sight and hearing; you don’t just choose one and discard the other. Both play a vital role in giving dimension to your senses. Likewise, the balancing act of reaching Transitionally-Objective truths requires that your perceptions about reality be as accurate as possible. The only real independent “fact” of reality is that your beliefs influence your experience very, very heavily. How you filter your perceptions is going to make the difference in whether you empower yourself of disempower yourself. Inaccurate Beliefs Lead to Suffering Testing your beliefs definitely takes courage, but honing that courage is infinitely more doable and enjoyable than suffering through complacency and apathy your entire life. The Higher Truth is that inaccurate beliefs lead to suffering. A majority of your personal anguish is due entirely to inaccurate beliefs. Those same beliefs might be true and helpful for someone else, but they don’t work for you, and your negative emotional states which come along with them are your “wake up alarms”. These alarms are showing you that you need to expand your perception – aka tweak your beliefs – in order to advance. When you swap out said belief for something else and test it, you’re doing real personal science and consciousness development. De-Bugging Your Beliefs: The Acceptance of Truth So, when you’ve identified an apparent “bug” (inaccurate/bad/incorrect/suboptimal belief), what do you do next? It would be in your greatest personal interest to keep your ego out of it, accept that you were working with flawed data, and correct said flaw and move forward. This, however, is what almost nobody ever does. What happens when we’re confronted with big truths that contradict what we’ve been buying into our entire lives? We reject, resist, and rationalize. Hanging on to broken beliefs is like carrying around every single pair of shoes you’ve ever worn and grown out of. It’s pointless and eats up a TON of precious energy! Drop them and replace them with new ones that fit you better :) ! My Personal Experience and Quest for Growth and Truth A lot of people ask me how I can go around believing in things like Trans-Objective/Subjective Reality, and not feel like a crazy-crazy when I’m out getting groceries or pumping gas. This is actually exactly what we’re talking about here. Notice how behind such a question is the assumption (belief) that reality is indeed 100% objective, and we can’t know or experience anything more than what Science already shows us/has discovered. You can tell such people are trying to shoehorn the Trans-Objective/Subjective lens through the Objective lens; it doesn’t work that way. That’s essentially applying two “filters” at once, diminishing your returns even more than before. The errors apparent in OR just further filter SR down to nothing. A common assumption is that when you believe in things, you’re equating a huge portion of your personality onto those beliefs. The more conscious you become, the more you realize that you are not your thoughts or your beliefs – and you don’t have to identify with any of those thoughts and beliefs that no longer serve you. You can then begin consciously and intentionally choosing new beliefs to test and experiment with, gauge your results, and then refine and repeat. This is how you gradually remove your fears, replace them with empowering self-truths, and clear the action path to any and all goals you wish to achieve for yourself. It does not matter; health, career, relationships – clear, strong consciousness coupled with accurate beliefs and perceptions is the closest thing to a panacea possible for humanity. First, recognize that “Objective Reality vs Subjective Reality” is not an actual argument or conflict; they are merely two different paths. Neither is factually proven to be true or false, but they vary in their degrees of accuracy. What this means is that YOU have to test and gauge the results of operating under those beliefs for a short period of time. Which lens affords you the most empowerment, catalyzes synchronicity for you, and allows opportunity and resources to flow toward you with optimal efficiency? When I personally tried to follow society’s suggestion of believing in a strictly Objective Reality, I’d be taking lots and lots of action with minimal return on investment. I could take action in circles all day, and get minimal results. I’d have random luck some days, and no luck on most others. Then, I’d see other people who I’d consider “behind” in terms of skill, flying past me at light speed – and they seemed to be happy AND having fun at the same time! Why wasn’t I happy or having fun? I was grinding my ass off with multiple jobs, hobbies, and classes. If Objective Reality is accurate, then I should have been amassing results – no matter how stressed, apathetic, cynical, and depressed I was becoming from my machine-like routine. Then, when I researched and started testing out Subjective Reality through experimenting with different beliefs all together – my reality opened up and aligned like never before. It was like I found exactly what I needed. Suddenly, I had direction, and would no longer swim in circles over meaningless, socially-conditioned goals (beliefs). I found myself naturally prioritizing my time, efforts, and actions much more effectively and efficiently than under the OR model – something you think would become more and more sloppy if you’re “a crazy and deluded Subjectivist!”. I then began writing about my passions, got picked up by several hugely-popular websites (ExpandedConsciousness.com, TheMindUnleashed.org, MyEmpoweredWorld.com, Self-Growth.com), and here I am. None of that would have happened under the socially-conditioned Objective model of reality for me, because it didn’t align with who I actually am. I intuitively knew that my personal strengths and values to society were NOT a match in the way that society was trying to get me to express them. No, I will not “settle” and become a journalist, just because that’s how you can make a steady living as a writer while stuck in The Matrix ;) . The belief that I need a job was proven false when I started attracting money by courageously following my passion. The social dogma of “You need a job to get money, or you’re screwed!” has blatantly been proven false. I’ve experienced enough counter evidence, in high enough frequency, to clearly know that such a belief is BS. If you never test this belief for yourself though, you severely limit your own potential. By operating within suboptimal beliefs, you effectively handicap your own potential for personal progress. Your life will be completely composed of a prison of lies you keep yourself shielded behind. This is not the way to live, my friend. Conclusion: Make Sure You’re Taking The Right Pills (And Change Your Shoes, Please)! Now, as I get ready to take my first wave of supplements for the day, I get to make another nerdy analogy :P : When I first started working out and weight training/bodybuilding, I was clueless about supplements and nutrition science. I figured, as most will do when starting out, that “I didn’t need any of that extra crap”. Parents and friends reinforced this belief. Several years in when I began plateauing, I knew I had to adjust something in order to continue making progress. That adjustment was my belief(s). I began researching nutritional science, and even became certified as a Personal Fitness Trainer & Coach through the ISSA just this past March. That increase in knowledge gave me the additional “cards” that I was missing from my deck. I can now see how my previous belief about supplements was suboptimal, because it prevented my progress in the gym. I now understand my body so well, that I know exactly what supplements, when to take them, and how much of each on a daily basis I’ll need to achieve my personal nutritional needs and goals. It’s easy to make the analogy between “taking the right pills” in regards to beliefs about the nature of reality. Until you personally experience the results of your beliefs, everything is just speculation. Even the highest forms of knowledge, including science, could (and do) contain false limits that you’re merely assuming to be real. Until you test those limits, those assumptions control your potential. Steadfast, disciplined trial and error coupled with a genuine thirst for increased knowledge, understanding, and growth is the only true way forward. Don’t get caught in the periphery belief that you have to adopt the beliefs society insists and throws upon you. Just because tons of other people live in ignorance and never question them, doesn’t mean that you have to do the same. Let go of all the old beliefs that don’t serve you, and replace them with new ones. After all, who the hell wants to carry around that many pairs of worn out shoes for their entire life :P ?
