All women have to go through menopause, the stage wherein female reproductive functions cease. Upon reaching this phase, the childbearing capabilities of a woman. Women usually arrive at this point when they are in their late forties or early fifties. rnMenopause is characterized by the decrease in the production of the female sex hormones, which are produced by the ovaries. The hormone imbalance causes several symptoms that cause extreme discomfort for women. Some of these manifestations are hot flashes, headaches, mood irregularities, fatigue, and depression. Women experience menopause differently, so they should learn how to manage the symptoms effectively. This can be done by promoting hormonal balance through natural and experimental methods. rnDiet and Lifestyle Changes rnAs the body matures, there are certain dietary needs that have to be fulfilled. This is also true once a woman hits menopause. A diet rich in calcium, iron, and fiber would promote hormonal balance, which alleviates the discomfort felt during this phase. Apart from this, supplements can also be taken to guarantee that other nutritional requirements are met. Limiting the consumption of alcohol and the intake of other harmful substances is also recommended. rnBio Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy Bio identical hormone replacement therapy treats the symptoms of hormonal imbalance through the use of hormones that are similar in molecular structure as that of a patient’s. In contrast to synthetic hormones, bio identical hormones are specially designed to match the patient’s body, allowing it to be integrated and metabolized by the system. This lessens the side effects patients might receive from the treatment. rnThere are different forms of bioidentical hormone replacement. The hormones can be introduced to the body as creams, oral tablets, suppository pills, or injections. It is up to the patient what method of intake is preferred. rnWhile definitely helpful in promoting hormonal balance that would counteract the uncomfortable symptoms of menopause, bio identical hormone replacement therapy is not meant as a stand-alone procedure. It works best when done in combination with natural therapies that make the menopausal stage easier for women.
