All patients still received their regular medications, followed a diabetic eating plan and an exercise program. The patients in the acupressure group received acupressure treatments four to six times per week for three years. They also had annual laboratory tests to monitor their cholesterol, fasting blood sugars, heart and kidney functions.

Acupressure treatments and Pressure Point Therapy have been used in traditional Chinese medicine for hundreds of years. While acupuncture works by using needles, acupressure.

Acupressure Therapy was known in India even 5000 years ago, unfortunately, it was not preserved properly and went to Sri Lanka (Ceylon) in the form of Acupuncture. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) does not work within any scientific standard but some of the professionals formulate hard work to bring practices into a facts based medicinal framework. There is no scientific consent over whether or not proof supports the effectiveness of acupressure beyond a placebo (non-specific effects or subject-expectancy effects). According to the protocols of evidence-based medicine.

For someone who knows nothing about the techniques behind acupressure, witnessing a session taking place, and seen the seemingly miraculous stress and pain relief that takes place can be quite a sight to behold. At first glance, it can resemble a type of deep tissue massage, but a massage targets a very different type of tissue, and has a very different purpose from acupressure.

Acupressure benefits are well documented in many different books and guides on the practice and you can get a great understanding of how to use them by researching the subject. If you're going to start acupressure it's a great idea to check out some books and videos on the subject before trying it out yourself, this way you won't make mistakes or inflict pain on yourself.

You should also think about cost. They aren't cheap but you don't have to spend a fortune either - just be sure to set yourself a budget and think about value for money. You don't want to buy one that's over the top if you're only going to use it once or twice a month. Also think about space, they can be quite large.

In this study, a group of 26 women were asked to wear an "acupressure band" for 3 days. The (wrist)band applied pressure to the P(6) acupressure point - which is indicated for stomachaches, vomiting and a whole host of unrelated symptoms. A separate group of women also wore an acupressure wristband, but did not have therapeutic pressure applied to the P(6) point.

During the Observation the practitioner observes the animal's movement, posture, gut sounds, etcetera, and makes notes of marks and patterns on the body to use these cues in the work. The practitioner then asks the animal for permission to do an acupressure treatment. This is done by speaking and touching softly so that the animal accepts the practitioner and gives its permission. The Opening is when the practitioner runs a hand from the eye to the hind foot along an energy meridian called the Bladder Meridian.

There is NO need to learn difficult massaging techniques; the Tibetan Acupressure Mat will do everything for you! All you need is simply apply high pressure to the Mat placed on your face skin (avoiding the area of the eyes) and hold it tight in place for minimum 40 seconds.
