Nebulizers are often advantageous for children and infants as it require minimal activity from the patient. Nebulizers are also called breathing machines as it aid people into administering asthma medication through normal breathing process. While there is also the metered dose inhalers known as MDIs and dry powered inhalers or DPIs, nebulizers are still the best choice when treating people as it does not include complicated procedures and the patient is not required to have a specific skill. MDIs and DPIs require an amount of precision to administer the drug properly in the body and one mistake can lead to discomfort for the patients including thrush and hoarseness of voice. There are different aspects to consider when choosing the best nebulizer for the patient. These include the patient’s condition, preference, doctor’s diagnosis, cost, and the asthma medication itself. There are three types of nebulizers for patients. The Ultrasonic Nebulizer, Jet Nebulizer, and Mesh Nebulizer can be used on a patient depending on the aspects earlier stated that can affect the administration of the asthma medication. Besides using the right nebulizer and medication for the patient, it is also vital for the users to clean and maintain the quality of the instrument. Failure to do so will pose as a danger the next time it will be used. Instructions on how to clean it are usually provided in the nebulizer. Administering the asthma medication via nebulizers is easy even if the patient is a toddler. First step is to put the medication in the nebulizer cup. Next step is to assemble the machine based on the instructions and place the mouthpiece or the mask on the patient. In using a nebulizer, a patient is only required to breathe normally until the asthma medication is all used up. This is one of the most important advantages people can have with nebulizers especially if they have infants or toddlers that need pediatric nebulizers to keep them occupied while undergoing the easy process of their medication.
