In affiliate marketing, the associates are looking into ways in which their chosen products can be promoted effectively. One effective way is utilizing e-zine advertising. The associate must first know what Ezine Advertising is all about before they can make use of this tool for promotion.

E-zine is a coined term for magazine made available online. It is a newsletter with varied topics or themes that are sent to subscribers. At a certain point when a newsletter ( after being published for some time in the internet ) has gained a certain number of subscribers that is representative of the global market, it is when the ezine publisher will begin selling advertising space to affiliates and online business owners.
Here are some tips that an affiliate marketer should bear in mind to get the maximum benefits of e-zine advertising.

*A number of e-zines are just paragraphs sent in an email, while other e-zines give links to other sites. The affiliate should choose e-zines that have these external links. If the affiliate has joined a PPC program, he can arrange the link to be directed to the merchant’s website. Or else, the link could go to the affiliate’s website. What is important is that the e-zine should persuade the subscriber to participate and take a more active role.

* There are 2 types of ezine ads: Solo ads which are expensive and the Banner-like ads which are much affordable. The solo ads take the complete attention of the reader, while the banner-like ads will be competing with other banner ads. It is up for the internet marketer to decide which ad type to choose according to the budget and what works best for his affiliate product.

* Affiliate marketers must pay attention on the placement of the ads.The top sponsor ads are better than ads placed in the middle of the newsletter article. An ad placed right in the middle will almost certainly be skipped by the reader. While the ad found at the top will more likely be read first. The top ads are naturally more expensive than the middle ads. But what good will a middle ad do when it cannot even get one visitor? Next to top ads, the bottom ads are effective. When the ezine article is engaging, the reader will reach the end and find the bottom ads. Since the recipient is through reading, he is more likely to click on the link of the bottom ad.

* The reason that ezines is effective is that they are conveyed to a very targeted group of readers. To have an e-zine ad that seeks out a particular audience, the associate marketer must find out from the newsletter’s publisher the topics of the next issues. Once the next issue is identified, for example “vintage cars”, the affiliate can select from among his products which is most related to the issue, for example, “car parts”. An e-zine ad about another topic, such as “computer software” will most likely be disregarded by the reader.

With these e-zine advertising guidelines, the associate can focus on ads that will produce profit and avoid the ones that do not.
