Before soap was made, our ancestors around the world used only water to keep themselves clean. Water was not very useful as a cleanser. At the most, it could just get mud off the skin. Thus cleansers like detergents and soaps were created. Water alone is incapable of removing many types of stains. Oils, grease and other tough stains need detergents and soaps as water does not mix with oil. So basically, soap acting as an emulsifier allows water to extract grime. Without particular chemicals used in soap, water would not be able to extract oils. Many materials constitute cleansers like soaps and detergents. The different chemicals in them play a major role in removing dirt and grime off the skin and from textile materials. Many raw materials used to make soap are not easily available in Africa. Thus the chemical traders in Dubai called Radiant Resources sources different raw materials to Africa that are used to manufacture soaps and detergents. Fatty acids from animal fat and oils are used to make soap. Alkali is also used to make soap. It is a soluble salt of alkali metals like sodium/ potassium, etc. Previously, the ashes of plants were used to make soap when the extraction of alkali was not known to us. Some of the common alkalis used are NaOH / caustic soda and KOH / potassium hydroxide. Glycerin is another major component in soaps. When you speak of bar soaps, so many types of soaps come to your mind. If you are a manufacturer in Africa looking for raw materials to make bar soaps, you can always contact our bulk chemical suppliers in the Middle East famed as Radiant Resources. Different bar soaps used in Africa are made from various combinations of cosmetic chemicals supplied from Dubai. Here are the 4 main types of bar soaps manufactured in Africa: - You have the common traditional bar soap that clearly does its job of picking dirt. These soaps can also be irritating to the skin as they are difficult to wash away. - Then you have the transparent category of soaps full of glycerin which are mild on the skin. The glycerin acts as a moisturizer. - Then there is also the superfatted kind. These soaps are made through an incomplete saponification process. In this process not all of the fats and oils are processed, thus the name 'superfatted'. - And last but not the least a gentle soap like Dove cannot be forgotten. Such a soap is called a syndet bar. Petroleum jelly, oils and fats are processed in a complexed manner to obtain such soap. Such soap is known as the mildest cleanser. Sodium cocoyl isethionate is widely used in these soap bars. For petroleum jelly suppliers, chemicals supplier and white oil suppliers to Africa, meet Radiant Resources, their raw material suppliers located in the Middle East.
