Growing old is the natural order of biology. No matter how many anti-aging products are out there in the market, no matter how streamlined and advanced cosmetic surgery is becoming, no one can stop the body’s cells from aging.

One of the parts of the body that shows the first signs of aging is the skin. Women are most sensitive about this. They pay attention to their skin and many would keep inventory of their skin’s appearance almost every night. That’s why they can immediately tell when new lines are forming at the corners of their eyes or on their foreheads.

This is actually the first step in aged skin treatment. Being observant of your skin as you grow old will help you anticipate skin problems and prevent them from occurring at all, if possible.

Now what if your skin already has noticeable signs of aging? Here are some treatment tips for these common skin aging problems:

Tight, dry ski

Lotions and creams should become staples in the daily routines of people 50 years old and above. As early as 30 years old, we start losing the elasticity or suppleness of our skin. Ideally, people should lather on moisturizing lotions since their teenage years. Starting young will help slow down skin aging.

Look for creams and lotions with high moisturizing factor and ones that are infused with collagen.

Speaking of collagen, you can actually apply or even ingest collagen itself. It is the most direct method of boosting the strength and elasticity of your skin. Collagen is also excellent for skin rejuvenation.

Burned, pigmented skinr

Sunbu
and skin pigmentation are mostly caused by UV rays from the sun. Yes, getting sunburned paves the way for newer skin to grow, but as you grow older your skin slows down in its skin cell reproduction and its reaction to UV rays changes—thus the appearance of pigmentation due to melanin exposure to UV.

Older people should make a habit of applying SPF 50 sunscreens before going out. If your skin has too many pigments, freckles, and dark spots, ask for advice from a dermatologist about skin care products, and if there are vitamins supplements you should take.

Wrinkled ski

Wrinkles cannot always completely disappear especially as people grow even older (unless you go through cosmetic surgery). The can be softened, however, and that’s what anti-wrinkle products can do. Look for one that works wonders for you. Not everybody gets the same results from the same product, but consider what the majority opine to be effective wrinkle-smoothening products.

Here’s one last tip for those who want to preserve not just their youthful-looking skin but also their good health all through their 50’s, 60’s, and older: quit your vices. Smoking and drinking can make the skin look dull and utterly unhealthy, as it does with the rest of your body. Stop tanning yourself, be it naturally under the sun or artificially in tanning salons. As mentioned above, exposure to UV radiation is a sure way to speeding up the aging process of the skin.
