Agra the city of architectural splendor is known across the world for splendid forts, captivating tombs and great mausoleums. It is the city which utters the saga of Mughal Empire through its three UNESCO World Heritage Sites - the Taj Mahal, Fatehpur Sikri and Red Fort. This is among the most famous tourist destination of India situated on the banks of the river Yamuna in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh. This historic city was the capital of the Mughal Empire from 1526 to 1658. Some of the well-known attractions of this fort are Nagina Masjid, Panch Mahal, Daulat khana-I-khas, Buland Darwaza, Diwan-khana-I-khaas and Diwan-I-Am. Agra Fort It is located near to the Taj Mahal alongside the river Yamuna. This is a curved shaped fort built by the Emperor Akbar. It is known for its magnificent construction which enthralls tourists during their visit to this fort. This is the historic fort of India which served the royal residence for the Mughal Emperors like Humayun, Akbar, Jehangir, Shah Jahan and Aurangzeb. Some of the popular attractions of this fort are Diwan-i-Khas, Khas Mahal, Jahangir Palace and Sheesh Mahal.
