Places of use
The places in which air conditioning units are most commonly used and needed are in office environments. This may also come as a surprise, as a large airy office is not the first place you’d think of when asked what a place that needs to be air conditioned looks like. However, offices have large numbers of people in them at one time, along with lots of computers and other electronic devices that need cooling at all times due to the heat that they expel.
When you go about choosing a cooling unit, you must consider how much cooling needs to be done in the first place, in order to make an informed decision. This is paramount, as getting an undersized cooling unit can be a massive mistake; if you don’t have enough cooling power, you will end up with a room that is still warm, despite spending money on a cooler. Additionally, you could end up over stressing the undersized cooler by running it at full capacity, meaning that it will wear out quicker, or perhaps even blow out completely and need to be replaced. This completely negates the lower cost and savings that you had made previously by purchasing the smaller capacity model.
Overpowered units
Equally, you could buy a model that is overpowered, or too high in capacity for your needs. This means that you could either over cool your office environment, so having chilled employees, or simply end up wasting energy providing power for an overpowered device, meaning that you’ll spend too much money powering the device. Therefore, it is extremely important that you choose your air conditioning units carefully before installing them.
Another consideration that you’ll have to make is that of where to place your particular cooling units. This may sound obvious, but the placement of the coolers is defined by the roof space you have available, along with the outer wall space available. For example, you can place the cooling unit extraction units on the roof of a building if it has a flat, secure roof with access, so they can be attended to. If the roof it pitched, then you will have to consider placing the extraction points on the side of the building, if allowed. They may not be allowed in some cases, if a residential building has windows opposite the extraction point.
