If you or someone in your family has a drug addiction, it brings a lot of trauma to the whole family. And going for a Drug addiction treatment is much more troublesome. However, checking in these centers is nothing less than a frightening experience for the first timers. Physically incompetent, mentally shattered and away from your family, the life suddenly takes a 360 degree change. Let's face it; many addicted people have no clue, what they will be facing in a rehab center. Therefore, it is best advised to make a rough checklist that you might be facing. The first thing that you will face, at your first day in center is an intake interview. This will be your first meeting with the professionals that will be dealing with your case in the coming days. There will be a therapist and he will be asking you few personal questions. Try to corporate him as this will help him decide your course of treatment. He will also checks, if you are facing with any physical disorder along with drug addiction. Shortly after your intake interview, you will be provided with an orientation packet. This packet will contain patient's Bills of Rights and also a schedule that you might be following during your stay in the center. Now is the time to make a tour at your living quarters. The belongings and the contents of the patient will be checked with utter care. All the belongings will be locked or damaged, depending on the legal regulations. You can go with your own clothes, but most of the rehab centers have their particular dress code. Next you will be meeting the professional team that includes a physician, therapist, a case manager and support people. These staff members will remain with you and take care of your treatment throughout your time in the drug and alcohol rehab center. Within 24 hours, when you land in the center, you will go through a physical examination. You will be going under various blood checks and urine tests to verify what drugs are currently present in your body. This will help them decide your treatment plan. Many centers also checks for tuberculosis and other communicable diseases. Then the doctor will discuss the case with you and your family and make recommendations for medical assistance. In the next two or three days your treatment team will work out a treatment plan specially designed to suit your condition. This will include an initial detox process as well as the treatment plan that you will be following in the coming days. It is very important that you are comfortable and cooperating with your team. Speak up your own thoughts and don't be afraid to ask questions. If you are in a drug rehab center for your treatment, you have to strongly consider changing yourself and should work according to your team.
