Bogomolov beats Tsonga, will play Murray again
Jo-Wilfried Tsonga is the second big name to leave the Cincinnati Open (the other one being Roger Federer), as he fell to Alex Bogomolov in two sets 6-3 and 6-4. The 28 year old tennis player who was born in Moscow but was raised in the USA, started to get some notoriety after he beat Andy Murray in Miami (his hometown) earlier in the year, and now he will be facing Murray again at the third round of the open, “Now it’s a little bit different. It’s a third round of a Masters Series instead of a second round but we’re going to have the same game plan going in.” he said of the upcoming match.
Terrelle Pryor in Supplemental draft and will miss first five
Teams interested in the services of Terrelle Pryor are now aware that they won’t be able to count with the young quarterback for the first five games of the NFL regular season, as the young player was suspended from the NCAA due to violations to their rules of conduct, and due to such situation the player has opted for making an early move to the National Football League and be included in the supplemental draft.
Yankees, Red Sox lost, NY still leading division
Even though the Yankees lost 5-4 to the Royals, they still keep the lead of the American League East as their immediate follower, the Red Sox, also lost their match against the Rays by 4-0 (this was their second straight defeat to Tampa Bay). Boston, who starts a four-game series against Kansas City tonight, is second in the division and is half a game behind New York, which is why they need to win such series against the Royals in order to take the lead.
Rondo affected by Obama’s words
It is being said that Rajon Rondo might have been affected by the comments of President of Obama to Ray Allen when a team of Celtics players were gathering with the president at a fund-raiser at the museum of fine arts, as Obama looked at Allen while pointing to Rondo saying to Allen “Hey, Ray, why don’t you teach this kid how to shoot?”. Even though he laughs at the joke, apparently Rajon was clearly bothered by the comment, and also shot the ball terribly the next day… The question is: was that just temporary? Or will Rajon Rondo continue to be affected by what the president said? We will find out when the next season arrives (hopefully the 2011-2012 if the lockout ends of time).
