Peripheral neuropathy is a condition in which the peripheral nerves of the nervous system are damaged resulting in loss of communication between the brain and the rest of the body. When the normal functioning of peripheral nervous system is affected, it can cause abnormal sensations of the extremities usually in the feet. Neuropathy Pain is mainly felt in the form of a tingling, electric shock sensations or burning in the feet.

Since there are many types of peripheral nerves with specialized functions that can be affected by peripheral neuropathy, each condition has its own symptoms. The common peripheral neuropathy symptoms include numbness and tingling in hands and feet, sharp pain, extreme sensitivity, lack of coordination or muscle weakness Peripheral neuropathy feet can occur when the nerves connecting the feet with the nervous system are affected. Peripheral neuropathy is treated by diagnosing and treating the underlying disease or condition, followed by symptomatic treatment. One important approach in treating peripheral neuropathy is addressing vitamin deficiencies. Certain vitamins such as Vitamin B12 and nutritional supplements like alpha lipoic acid play an important role in maintaining nerve health. Other treatments for neuropathy pain include pain relievers or prescriptions medications such as Neurontin.
The neuropathy natural treatment includes adopting a healthier lifestyle by controlling weight, avoiding exposure to toxins, indulging in appropriate exercise patterns, eating a well-balanced diet, and quitting alcohol and smoking.
