Hypertension is accelerating at a faster pace than life with children as young as 13 years falling prey to its health complications. This high blood pressure trouble was initially associated with old age people but as we are progressing in lives, it seems that this health condition is also making its progress by attacking the younger population. The fact that this detrimental health condition is associated with various other devastating and catastrophic clinical illnesses makes it a major issue of concern.
The main reason for such a drastic surge in hypertension prevalence is attributed to the current trend of living and the stress associated with studies work,relations, etc; which are going to remain the same for few years. And, hence researchers are constantly inventing one or the other clinical aid to calm down this health trouble and its allied health implications. The availability of a wide range of anti-hypertensive medications such as Amlodipine, Atenolol, etc in the market
clearly signifies the development in the clinical world.

What are the ‘hypertension’ facts of Garlic?

The current research study is one of the very few clinical studies that have focused on natural available compound to find a cure for this infuriating blood pressure condition. The study showed the potential of garlic in mitigating the raised blood pressure levels in the around 47 hypertensive patients, who were enrolled in the study.

The study group was divided into two, where the first group was given 200 mg of garlic for three times a day; while the second one was given a placebo. The results proved that the systolic blood pressure level decreased by around 12mHg and the diastolic pressure reduced by 9mHg in the test group. No detrimental health effects were observed in patients consuming the garlic.
While, in a second study the test group was given 200mg garlic powder along with administering a baseline therapy of hydrochlorothiazide-triamterene. The results
obtained from the second study showed that on an average a drop of 10mHg and 7mHg in the systolic and diastolic pressure respectively in the test group was observed as compared to the placebo. Hence, both the clinical studies showed that garlic posses the capability to annul the hypertension hassle as well as alleviate the risk of its related health issues.
