Energy Psychology and Energy Medicine are new fields of scientific study and clinical application, both born from the science of quantum physics/ quantum mechanics. For those well-versed in the cutting–edge quantum approach to the Universe, life, the human body, the energy connectedness of all, Energy Psychology and Energy Medicine are givens and the obvious choice for supporting health and wellness of the body, mind, and spirit.
Energy Psychology is the quantum branch that focuses on mind, emotion, energy - over matter, or in this case, the physical body. Within Energy Psychology (EP) there are many modalities from which to choose. Some of the more well-known and accepted include: Neuro Emotional Technique, Emotional Freedom Techniques, Neuro Emotional Anti-Sabotage Technique, Thought Field Therapy, Hypnotherapy, and Tapas Acupuncture Technique. Related modalities that either complement or overlap these include: Reiki, Healing Touch, Applied Kinesiology, Touch for Health, Acupuncture, among others. Additional vibrational and energetic modalities include: Homeopathy, Flower and Gem Essence Therapies, Light and Color therapies, Sound and Music Therapies, Aromatherapy, Reflexology, and others.
In order to best treat the whole person an alte
ative medicine practitioner may wish to consider partnering with an Energy Psychologist or learning certain EP techniques to incorporate into his or her holistic practice. Many chiropractors, osteopaths, naturopaths, among other health practitioners, would be able to better treat chronic or recurring symptoms that relate to trauma, emotional or energetic blocks, or subconscious beliefs if they could follow up with EP techniques or teach these to their patients. These symptoms and their causes can be adeptly and easily cleared – without drugs or lengthy talk therapy sessions.
Starting as soon as a patient presents to an alte
ative physician, some of these EP techniques can be incorporated while the history is being taken, whenever emotion shows up, and in all cases of chronic discomfort. Also, the patient can easily be taught to utilize some self-help techniques so that when they return home to the environment where they may have picked up the stress or emotional issue, they have a technique to use between doctor visits… for the rest of their lives. This can be such a beneficial additional service for patients wishing to stay healthy after a good, thorough visit to their favorite practitioner!
There are many ways for an alte
ative medicine practitioner to learn more about EP. The best way is to experience it first hand as a way to build a bigger practice, attract the right staff and patients, overcome personal fears, past traumas, limiting beliefs, self-sabotage, or recurring negative cycles. Then, there are a variety of EP training programs world-wide for health practitioners, and some of these can be taken in the comfort of one’s own office by phone and internet.
So, if you are an alte
ative medicine body practitioner who truly wishes to offer whole person services, you should consider teaming with an Energy Psychologist or learning first-hand some of the EP techniques that will support you directly and then also serve your patients.
