If you are considering Alte
ative Medicine, then you may have been dissatisfied with the treatments or protocols that you have used before. • Maybe you question a diagnosis or treatment.
• Maybe nobody knows what is causing your discomfort and you are looking for answers.
• Possibly you have been sent off with either a “life” or “death sentence” by a traditional practitioner, and you now choose a different path.
• Maybe you are on a quest for a modality or wholistic practitioner to provide a better “fit” for your needs.

I would bet that every practitioner listed in the Alte
ative Medicine section here at Self Growth has met “you” before in some individual searching for a better way, a sense of hope, a treatment for the cause of their problems. As you will see, there is a wealth of information in the Alte
ative Medicine pages – via practitioners, their articles, and their products and services. You will find self-help advice and programs as well as professionals looking forward to serving your greater good via natural health and wellness.

As a long-time advocate and practitioner of alte
ative, natural, (w)holistic healing approaches, it has greatly saddened me recently to lose some dear friends and family members to invasive medical procedures when I truly believe they could have not only been cured of their discomforts, but also saved from much suffering if they had only known about and availed themselves of alte
ative, non-invasive approaches.

Allopathic medicine has a strong focus on giving quick relief of painful symptoms in order to support and maintain one’s “normal” quality of life. Medical doctors do many things very well, however, what happens when this lifestyle “norm” is the root cause of the discomfort or dis-ease? Covering the symptoms will only benefit one for so long before the original cause will break through by showing up in a different location or symptom. Often this subsequent manifestation is more serious than the original.

Generally the “Alte
ative to Medicine” approaches are for people, like you, who are willing to open yourself up to different, often more natural, ways of healing the cause of the symptoms. Often this requires some change in you, your attitude, your lifestyle. You are courageous to be looking for alte
atives, and your subsequent health and wellness will be your reward for reading on and contacting some of the practitioners listed in the Alte
ative Medicine Self Growth category.

Within the section you will find a wonderful collection of practitioners of various modalities, and many of these individuals, like me, blend a number of approaches or techniques in order to offer more alte
atives that will fit the needs of each individual unique case that presents to our practice.

Included, among others you will find: • Acupuncturists
• Aromatherapists
• Body Therapists
• Chiropractors
• Color Therapists
• Cranial-sacral Specialists
• Energy Psychologists
• Holistic Physicians
• Homeopaths
• Music Therapists
• Naturopaths
• Reflexologists
• Among many others.

Just read the expert biographies in this category and you will be both amazed and informed about the countless opportunities available that are complementary alte
atives to the American Medical Association typical treatments. We applaud your search and welcome you to thinking alte
atively!
