Located amidst the snowy mountains of Himalayas, Amarnath Cave Temple is one of the most popular pilgrimage centers in India. This holy destination is dedicated to lord Shiva, and is visited by millions of Hindu devotees to catch glimpse of an iced Shiva-Lingum that appears annually in the cave. Amarnath Cave is supposed to be more than 5000 years old, and is believed to be an adobe of Lord Shiva. The cave is situated at an altitude of over 13,000 ft, and remains blocked by snow for most of the year. During summer/rainy season, when the ice begins to melt down, millions of devotees from across the county opt for Amarnath Yatra to pay homage to this supreme deity despite of the tough routes and inclement weather conditions. During this time, the way to the Amarnath Shrine becomes vibrant with sounds of ‘Bum-Bum-Bhole’ and ‘Om Namah Shiva’.

The sacred Amarnath Cave is located in the Indian state of Jammu & Kashmir amidst the beautiful hills of Himalaya, about 140 km from Srinagar. There is an interesting tale behind this cave. It’s said the cave was chosen by the Lord Shiva as a cloistered place to narrate the secret of immortality to his better-half Parvathi. When Lord Shiva was sharing the secret, Parvathi got asleep and a pair of pigeons listened that knowledge without permission. It’s believed that the pair of pigeons is still alive and visits the cave frequently. Many devotees have reported to see that pair many times in/around the cave.

Amarnath Yatra is really blissful not only for pilgrims but also for nature lovers. The route takes the visitors through various enchanting landscapes such as lakes, forests, valleys and mountains. Hence it provides them with breathtaking natural vistas to undergo. The Amarnath Yatra is organized by the government of Jammu & Kashmir, and the registration for Amarnath Yatra is a mandatory condition for everyone to be the part of this holy journey. Nowadays, many tour operators provide the pilgrims with necessary assistance to make their journey hassle-free. They offer the facility of Amarnath Yatra registration online, and arrange all other services for a comfortable Yatra. Devotees who are too old to walk can take horse-ride to complete their journey. There are many base camps on the way, providing the tourists required facilities time to time. Apart from that, one can buy an Amarnath Yatra package that include helicopter ride, accommodation and other travel services to make the journey short, comfy and delightful.

Along with the main Amarnath cave, there are numerous destinations of tourists’ interest. Pilgrims can visit to the Sheshnag, Chandawadi, Pahalgam and Martand Surya Mandir during their tour. Exploring the natural beauty of Himalayas will also be a remarkable experience. To search for a suitable Amarnath Yatra package, internet is the most reliable option.
