The human brain is one of the most complex of any creature on the planet. Though it is a light weight weighing less than 3 pounds, it is an extremely sensitive organ composed of more than 10 billion nerve cells and over 50 billion other cells. The connectivity between these cells is astonishing as each neuron can bond with thousands and thousands of others via tiny structures called as synapses. The most amazing part about the brain is that it controls both the voluntary and involuntary movements of the body and it is the commander of all the signals which make the body perform its functions.
The brain is composed of grey and white matter and is enclosed inside the cranium. It is subdivided into four lobes namely the frontal, parietal, occipital and temporal lobes with each lobe performing a different function in the body. The human being is the only creature who can emote every expression with clarity as compared to other organisms. We can laugh, cry, emote anger and all of these actions can be pretty distinct. Omega-3 fatty acids(most found in fish) are crucial components of the outer membrane of the brain cells and these are best suited for optimal brain function. Research also quantifies that foods with good amount of carbohydrates keep the brain active. There are several other reasons why we need to maintain a proper diet – After the age of 35, the brain cells degenerate at the rate of 7000 cells a day and these cannot be replaced. Nowadays there are several drugs and medicines that have come in the market to make the brain work sharper and finer. Companies like Vitabiotics provide medicinal products which assist in brain function. Its drugs such as Vitabiotics’ Neurozan are capsules which contain nutrients that not only make a person sharper but also keep him active throughout the day.
