Perhaps the easiest, and certainly one of the cheapest, methods of storage, is by using cardboard boxes. Very often, we don’t even need to go out and purchase any, as many goods that we purchase at the shops are stored in these, and with a bit of creativity, we can even decorate and recycle them. Ever since Kelloggs chose to pack their now famous cereal in cardboard boxes, their use has become increasingly common, with not only food items now stored in them by shops, but footwear, clothes and a host of other household items. To some degree, plastic has taken over some of the roles of cardboard storage, but the traditional method has stood the test of time extremely well. Whilst plastic may be more practical for certain things, especially for storing items that contain liquids, cardboard has, not only the affordability, but also the strength, and longevity to make it a winning product. Depending on what you are planning to store in your boxes, you may decide whether to simply recycle an old box that once contained a purchase, or purchase new boxes from a stationery supplier. For example, children’s toys can happily be stored in an old cardboard box; you could even let the children decorate it as they wish. As these boxes are likely to be stored away, and not visible to any visitors, style is not an important factor. If, however, you are looking to store office documents, whether in an office environment, or a home office, you are likely to want something that looks a little more stylish, and professional, rather than a simply a collection of recycled food packaging. Thankfully, many stationers now stock a wide selection of cardboard boxes, in a range of designs and colours. Gone, now, are the days, when all documents were stored away, hidden from view, in dull old brown boxes. These days you will find that most good stationers and office suppliers, can provide you with a wide range of colours to choose from. These can be chosen, simply to match your office or home décor, or you may even use your own colour system, with one colour reflecting a certain year, or type of document, perhaps. There are environmental considerations to be made too, of course. With new laws coming into force on a regular basis, it seems wise to pre-empt them by ensuring that you comply with them as far as possible. Unlike plastic, which does not biodegrade very well and simply fills up landfill sites; cardboard decomposes and biodegrades extremely efficiently, which is much better for the environment. Many local authorities also offer a collection service for recyclable materials, or you can simply take them to your local recycling centre. Cardboard storage boxes are also extremely useful when you are moving house. Large boxes can now be bought, which can then be used to store clothes and general household goods. These boxes offer good protection for long journeys and have the additional bonus that, when you reach your new destination, and have unpacked your items, they can simply be folded up and stored away until needed again. Once folded, they take up very little room, and certainly much less than would be the case with plastic boxes. Most suppliers of boxes for moving also supply related products, such as padding material and tape. So, despite being a long established product, cardboard boxes have stood the test of time against their modern opponents, and are still the first choice of most people when it comes to packing and storing. Whilst colours and styles may have changed, the cardboard box is still there, relatively unchanged from when it was first invented.

At Boxes2move you will be able to find all the products you need such as Moving Boxes, packing boxes, padding material and much more at a price everyone can afford.
