A Blueheights Aviation Private Limited representative will escort guests from the railway station/airport in Dehradun to the hotel for a complimentary ove ight stay on arrival.
Yamunotri
Early morning, You will reach the Shastradhara helipad to reach Kharsali. Yamunotri temple is 6 kms away from Kharsali helipad. After completing the darshan at Yamunotri temple, you will be taken back to Kharsali for an ove ight stay.
Shani temple, Yamuna Mata Temple and the Hot Springs at Yamunotri are some viable sightseeing options included in the Chardham Yatra itinerary.
The Yamunotri Temple is located near Janki Chatti in the Garhwal Himalayas. This place is the abode of Goddess Yamuna Devi, India's second most revered river among Hindus.
In Hindu mythology, Yamuna is the twin of Yama (the god of death) and the daughter of Surya dev. She is referred to as the Lady of Life - Yami.
According to legend, the river was named after the goddess who attempted to open her eyes in the presence of the sun god. When the sun god saw that she could not do so, he became furious. But in her next attempt, she tried to open her eyes in his presence. Elated with her attempt, Surya Dev blessed her that she would be revered as Yamuna and would also inherit her frivolous nature.
The peak adjusting to the source of river Yamuna is named after Surya Dev as Kalind Parvat. Yamuna is also known as Kalindi.
Gangotri
The next day, you will head to the Harsil helipad from Kharsali to reach Gangotri. The temple is roughly a 50-minute drive from Kharsali helipad to cover a distance of 25 kms. After the evening of Aarti and darshan, you will return to Kharsali for an ove ight stay. Sightseeing at Bagodi Village, a trek to Mukhwa village and a nature walk from Jhalla are included in the itinerary.
After completing Darshan at Yamunotri, the next on the list of Gangotri, it is known as the seat of India's most holy river, Ganga. It is known as Bhagirathi at the source, and from Devprayag, it acquired the name of river Ganga after meeting Alaknanda.
The Origin of the Holy river Ganga is considered from the Gaumukh glacier. Nepalese General Amar Singh Thapa is credited for constructing the Gangotri temple. The temple opens in April on the auspicious day of Akshaya Tritiya and closes on Diwali every year.
Keda ath
The next day, you will head to the Sersi helipad to pay tribute at the Keda ath Ji. A shuttle flight shall be available at Sersi to reach Keda ath temple. After completing Darshan at Keda ath, you will head back to Sersi for an ove ight stay. Sightseeing attractions such as Triyuginarayan Mandir are worth visiting.
Keda ath temple is a 1200 years old temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is one of the 12 Jyotirlingams and one of the most important temples among the Panch Kedar. The temple is believed to be built by guru Adi Shankaracharya in the 8th century. It is one of the crucial Dham for Chardham and Do Dham Yatra. Located at 3500 meters above sea level, the temple remains covered with snow for most of the year.
As the temple closes down during the winter, the deity of Lord Shiva is brought down to Unimukh - a nearby village. While there are around 200 shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva in the Chamoli region, the most important one is the Keda ath.
In 2013, the temple was severely hit by a heavy flood triggered due to excessive rain. It was a breach of a massive glacial lake situated above Keda ath. After Gangotri, Keda ath is the next dham on the itinerary to be visited on Char Dham Yatra.
Badrinath
The last Dham on the Char Dham Yatra itinerary is Badrinath. Early morning you will leave the Sersi helipad to reach Badrinath Ji for Darshan. A heritage walk to Mana village and the Hot Springs of Badrinath is also included in the itinerary for the Chardham yatra by Helicopter from Blueheights Aviation Private Limited.
According to Hindu Mythology, God Vishu sat in meditation at Badrinath for the welfare of humanity. To protect him from the harsh climatic condition, Goddess Laksmi, his consort, transformed into a Badri tree (Indian Date, Jujube or wild berry). Earlier, devotees used to take a strenuous journey through the mighty Himalayas to reach Badrinath. But nowadays, Chardham Yatra By Helicopter has made it very easy to reach Badrinath temple.
Pleased by the devotion of Goddess Laxmi, Lord Vishnu named the place Badrika Ashram. And Lord Vishnu started to be known as Badrinath - lord/husband of Badri.
It is believed that the holy circuit of Chardham was invented by Hindu Guru Adi Shankaracharya Ji in 8 AD.
Back To Dehradun
Once you complete the Yatra for Badrinath Dham, your Chardham Yatra concludes. The next day, you will head back to Dehradun at Shastradhara.
