Executive MBA which is also called EMBA is a management program that has been exclusively designed for professionals. These professionals are people are basically with work experience and want to give a boost to their career. In recent times demand of executive MBA is increasing day by day as most of the employers are asking their managers and executives to pursue Executive MBA. Today most of the reputed management institutes like all the branches of IIMs, XLRI Jamshedpur, ISB, Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, IIFT, Management Development Institute Gurgaon are offering Executive MBA programs to professionals and executives. EMBA Course Depiction Depending on the college EMBA courses are available in various modes. Like full time, part time, online EMBA, one year or two year EMBA program. Most of the people opt for one year Executive MBA program in which team approach is used to provide education. The course in designed in such a way in which most of the activities has to be done in groups so that everyone can learn from each other’s experience. In EMBA professionals get very informative and challenging learning experience because of the standard of teaching in these programs. rnDuring Executive MBA professionals get opportunity to share their practical knowledge on various topics. The course is designed while using scientific approach so that the currently existing inefficiencies in management can be addressed properly. One year Executive MBA is usually a residential course. rnSome colleges provide part time Executive MBA courses as well. These are non residential courses and in these classes are arranged in the evening or on weekends. rnAs many colleges are offering online Executive MBA as well, students can continue their work during their courses. With the advancement of technology students don’t have to leave their dreams in between because of jobs. They can still pursue EMBA through distance learning or online MBA. Eligibility criteria for Executive MBA There are different factors that have to be considered while deciding the eligibility criteria for an Executive MBA course. First of all it is required to complete graduation degree to pursue EMBA with at least 3 years of work experience. Some colleges make it mandatory to have a post graduate degree for students to clear the eligibility criteria. There are entrance exams to get admission in Executive MBA like GMAT which students need to clear. Many colleges prefer the GMAT scores while there are some colleges that conduct their own entrance exams. After clearing the entrance exam aspiring students go for group discussion and personal interviews. rnMinimum requirement is to get at least 50% marks to clear the entrance exam as per the institutes. As some companies sponsor their employees for the Executive MBA programs some colleges select student on the basis of sponsorship. The fee structure is different for regular candidates and sponsored candidates. Some colleges also give preference to the kind of work experience an applicant has. It is also an aspect considered while deciding your eligibility criteria. Students with managerial work experience get more preference. Job Opportunities after Executive MBA There are different types of job opportunities for both sponsored and non sponsored students. Non sponsored Executive MBA students are typically supported by the placement cells of institutes. As an EMBA degree gives higher level of acquaintance and understanding of management topics, students generally get a job wherein they play managerial role with increased responsibilities of managing a team and taking more responsible decisions. On the other hand sponsored students go back to their sponsoring company and continue working with them.
