Whatever your basic personal temperament and inclination, there will probably be several types of nursing jobs that you'll want to devote yourself to. Those who prefer to be independent may work for organizations, while those who prefer normal employment may find opportunities at hospitals or clinics. Companies will normally employ and pay you on an hour-to-hour basis, that will depend on the number of hours that a particular job entails. Nursing organizations are companies, generally with their own sites, specializing in assisting nurses find different types of nursing jobs. If a nurse registers in one such company, she'll probably have to indicate the hours of the day that she is available. She will then be assigned duties on those free times.
