Many people have asked about the various animals that appear on my website, wondering if they have special meaning. Yes, I chose each animal specifically to represent the sentiment of each web page. If you haven't seen my website here is the link; www.of2minds,.com
I often refer to these as my "animal totems" or "animal guides", because I like the notion that things in nature are filled with energy and have influence over our emotional and spiritual well being. This inclusiveness keeps me humble and mindful of all life, not just human life. I started associating personal symbolic meaning to things, when I studied Jungian psychology, and dream analysis. It was fascinating to discover how often the symbolic meaning of something in my dreams had relevance to something that was going on in my life. I began to do the same exploration and discovery with my association to animals.
Just for fun, think of an animal that you have always been fond of.
What personality aspects do you associate with this animal? If this animal had the power to impart wisdom, what would it teach you?
Where in your life do you feel vulnerable? What kind of emotional, psychological, and spiritual help would benefit you right now?
Check out this site, www.sayhada.com., There are many other sites on animal totems and symbolism. What did you find out about the animal you chose? Can you relate this to your life? Does your animal offer the kind of energy healing you need?
Play with this notion. When you wake in the morning, ask yourself what animal you feel like being for the day. Look up what energy that animal is thought to possess. Is it a match?
Here is some info on some of the animals I chose:
1. Deers are thought to be the conduits between heaven and earth, and those who have deer energy have clairaudient and clairvoyant abilities.
2. Owls are often associated with shamanism and healing. Owl energy is also associated with clairaudience and people with this owl energy, are often therapists and counselors.
3. I associate whales with the subconscious mind. Traditonally the ocean is the symbol for the subconscious mind. Beluga whales turn white as they age which I associate with spirit and wisdom. Belugas look like they are always smiling. When I feel glum, I think of the belugas I first met at the New York Aquarium in Coney Island. Inevitably I begin to smile.

Are there any Prescription Drugs that will Block the Cravings of Alcohol?
It’s the Holy Grail in the world of addiction to find drugs that will block the craving for alcohol. There are three medications on the market that have been studied and show some benefits. Pros and Cons of Drug Used for Alcohol Dependency or to Block Craving Campral, also known as Acamprosate, is used to block craving. Studies have found a reduced incidence of relapse with veterans in Philadelphia who took this drug. The daily dosage is two 333mg tablets, three times a day, and in my practice dealing with addiction and alcoholism, that has a limited benefit.
