Are you jealous of other womens' bodies? Oh, how slim and fit they are? Are you eager to know what is the best way to lose weight? Worry no more because having a low sodium intake will help you. One of the challenges in lowering sodium intake in a usual diet is the widespread use of salt. Seventy-five percent of the sodium in a typical diet is usually from the manufacturing of processed food products, and only about twelve percent is from the food itself. Salt is often added up on different ways; it can either be during cooking, as a table seasoning, in restaurant and fast foods, in processed or prepared foods, as a natural preservative in vegetables and meats, and in some over-the-counter medications. There are plenty of strategies that a person could use in reducing sodium intake. These strategies can even be applied when having meals or eating in the dining room. Avoid using salt in cooking. Do not place salt or a salt shaker at the table during meals. Avoid eating fast foods, as these set of foods tend to be salty. Include more fresh vegetables and fruits in the diet. Also, limit eating prepared and processed foods as much as possible. Reduce salty snack intake, milk and even dairy products since it contains significant amounts of sodium. Use alternative spices and flavors, such as vinegar, lemon juice, peppers, onion, and fresh herbs in seasoning food. Limit usage of condiments with high salt content such as soy sauce and ketchup. Lastly, eating bananas and other potassium-rich foods can regulate sodium levels inside the body. Studies and researches have shown that these foods reduce the effect of sodium on the blood pressure. Make it a habit to read food labels and know which brands have the highest amount of sodium. Most of the well-loved snacks and food products come in a low sodium variety. Recently, most supermarkets have health lanes where these alternatives are available. These are just some of the steps that can help gradually weaning off salt in the diet.
