Are Animals Carrying Your Illness and Stress?

Animals know us better than almost any other being on the planet. They see what’s in our minds eye and they feel what we’re feeling. They can get closer to our hearts than anyone else because they get under our defense mechanisms!
In order to stay healthy personally and within our community, we must stay connected with the animals, treating them with respect and honor, listening and learning from them on many levels.
Many ancient tribal societies believed that animals carried the illnesses and stresses of their people. Today animal health care providers confirm that because they see a significant correlation between stressed owners and their sick animals.
For instance, Tanya’s dog was paralyzed and she wanted me to do healing work with her. So I did and we saw some wonderful improvements. From no feeling or control of her hind end and tail, she was able to feel again, and was even able to wag her tail!
Tanya disclosed that she’d been having back problems as well. We were amazed to discover that the exact same injured area in her dog was also injured in her!
Our backs have a lot to do with our support network and how stable we are in our lives. Tanya had been through a divorce, was feeling unsupported and cut off from her friends. So was it a surprise that her dog, who loved her so very much, was sponging off the pain and difficulties into her own body in order to help her human cope?
Maimonides, the 12th century philosopher and physician said that “if we took care of ourselves as well as we do our animals we would suffer fewer illnesses.”
Take a moment to notice how much you care for and love your pet. Notice the many gifts they have even though they may not be perfect. Love, appreciate and care for yourself at least that much.
Are you in any way neglecting your animals, or have forgotten to be grateful for their many gifts to you? This is also instructive and shows you ways you may be neglecting, judging or mistreating yourself…

Other Beings in our lives serve us by reflecting back to us the lessons we are here to learn. Many companion animals choose to spend their lives attempting to break through our barriers, help us heal and become reconnected with all Life.
They touch our hearts and for that we are forever grateful.
