Very simply, teaching staff make an awful lot less than experienced plumbers, so only a few high-quality plumbers are going to become plumbing teachers. With the excellent plumbing courses currently on offer delivered by lots of high quality private training providers, the situation is beginning to alter. If you asked students a few years ago what they aimed to do when they were older they would rather be dealing with computers, and would have a somewhat dim view of the trades. As word spreads concerning the potential salaries you can expect from a career in plumbing, coupled with the costs now associated with higher education, many are viewing a career in plumbing in a totally different light.
