Congenital adenomyosis may be associated with endometrium lesions. Adenomyosis occurs when the endometrium is damaged, and the endometrium stroma and glands invade the myometrium. In general, the endometrium is divided into the functional layer and the basal layer. The functional layer will present periodic shedding and bleeding, resulting in normal menstruation. The basal layer guarantees the normal functioning of the functional endometrium layer and prevents the endometrium from intruding into the myometrium. Are You born with adenomyosis? Adenomyosis is a disease with a genetic tendency, that is, the occurrence of adenomyosis relates to genetic factors to certain degrees. Some women have genital tract obstruction due to congenital or acquired diseases and other factors. It hinders menstrual blood from flowing out of the body smoothly, resulting in the dislocation of the endometrium to the myometrium, and then further causes the occurrence of adenomyosis. 2. There are many reasons for adenomyosis, among which abortion is the most common factor. Some females take ineffective contraceptive measures leading to unintended pregnancy and forcing them to take abortion surgery. It causes damage to the uterine wall, resulting in endometrial basal cell lesions and adenomyosis. 3. Adenomyosis is a disease that depends on estrogen to survive. Therefore, to a certain extent, adenomyosis is linked to the huge amount of estrogen in the patient's body. Some women are fond of eating food that is high in estrogen in daily life. It is easy to increase the estrogen in the body, contributing to the development of the myometrium from the endometrium and adenomyosis. What are the clinical symptoms of adenomyosis? 1. Dysmenorrhea. Dysmenorrhea is a specific clinical symptom of adenomyosis. Patients may have typical secondary and progressive dysmenorrhea, but a few dysmenorrhea symptoms are atypical. At the same time, it can also be accompanied by painful intercourse or chronic pelvic pain and other clinical symptoms. 2. Menstrual disorder. It can present as heavy periods, prolonged menstruation, and spotting between periods. Heavy periods are the most common symptoms and can cause anemia in severe cases. It is related to uterine and endometrium enlargement and the effect of uterine muscle wall lesions on uterine muscle fiber contraction. 3. Enlargement of the uterus. Uterine enlargement is the inherent symptom and sign of this disease, and almost all patients have varying degrees of uterine enlargement. 4. Low fertility rate. More than 20% of patients are infertile. There is a significant increase in the incidence of abortion, premature delivery and stillbirth after pregnancy, and associated adverse obstetric complications, including premature rupture of membranes, preeclampsia, fetal abnormalities, placental abruption, and placenta previa. 5. Other related symptoms. Uterine enlargement can press on neighboring organs and cause associated clinical symptoms. For example, bladder compression can cause urinary tract symptoms and bowel compression can cause intestinal irritation symptoms. Other symptoms are chronic pain and psychosomatic disorders caused by infertility, etc. For patients with adenomyosis who no longer have fertility requirements, a complete hysterectomy is preferable and ovaries are preserved as far as possible. Those who want to have children can take hormone therapy for 6 to 12 months. They can get pregnant in the short term when they stop taking it because it's very difficult for people with adenomyosis to get pregnant.
