While some report they feel relief and more powerful after an explosion, it is also important to understand how this explosion damages relationships. Apologies after the fact, are never enough. Verbal abuse leaves scars, even if they are not visible. It diminishes the trust and love in a relationship. It not only creates resentment and distance from your partner but also instills fear and anxiety from your children. You need to ask yourself what is most important, to always win even if it’s through fear and intimidation, or to work towards understanding another’s point of view which will lead to a healthy, loving relationship and will empower your children to feel safe and secure.
