Why are you putting yourself in the “straight Jacket” of conventional pain therapy? Modern western medicine tells you that if it cannot be scientifically proven it doesn't’nt work. Then why have so many people received relief from alte
ative therapies? Western medicine says, it is a “placebo effect” or it’s all in your head, (it works because you believe it will). In reality we just do not currently have the technology to test the theories of alte
ative therapies.
There is not a single medication on the market that does not have at least one side effect. Surgery opens up the body, exposes it to possible infection and changes the natural mechanics of the body. In most cases, surgery does not ncompletely relieve the pain. (Carpal tunnel surgery only has about a 50% success rate 1.). A majority of the time you still have to go to therapy after surgery to regain strength and break down scar tissue from the surgery. Some situations (e.g., nsevere trauma) do require surgery, but the average person in pain should be able to avoid surgery. Conventional physical therapy only takes care of the symptoms, not the causes of pain.

Bowenwork is one of the newest forms of pain relief. Unlike other forms of pain therapy Bowenwork allows the body to choose to repair itself with only suggestions from the therapist instead of imposing the will of the therapist on you.
Bowenwork uses gentle rolling motions over the muscle and connective tissue, followed by two to twenty minute pauses to give the body an opportunity to correct itself.

Just like acupuncture and chiropractic, scientific studies have been and are being done on Bowenwork so that the medical community can see the “proof” that this form of therapy if effective.

Tom Bowen, bo
1916 in Brunswick, Australia, pioneered the work that now bears his name in the early 1950's. By the 1970'sBowen was treating 13,000 people a year, with a documented success rate of more than 85%. At the time of his death in 1982, he considered only six men to have been trained in his technique. One of the men, Ossie Rentsch, spent eight years documenting Bowen's work. Though Tom did not formally teach his technique himself, he authorized Ossie to take Bowenwork to the world after I die . Ossie and his wife Elaine taught their first nseminar in 1986 in Perth, Australia. Bowenwork is now being taught in 25 countries around the world.

There are many theories about exactly how the treatment works, but as yet no definitive medical reasoning behind the amazing results of Bowenwork. Even Mr. Bowen himself did not explain how it worked preferring to let the treatment speak for itself. One idea is that Bowenwork simply connects the parts of the body with the brain, using the many receptors scattered throughout the body. The minimal moves push the brain into a simple form of holistic examination, information is then exchanged and structural integrity restored. Another theory comes from the nconcept of cellular communication as explained in the book, Dark Side of the Brain, by Roger Coghill and Harry Oldfield. This theory is that each cell of the body is a kind of wireless transmitter tuned to the specific frequency of that individual.
Where certain areas are out of tune, injury, illness or diseases are the result. By gently touching and moving certain parts of the body, some re-tuning takes place and the body is able to heal itself. The important aspect to focus on is that the body nheals itself and that the input from the therapist is in the form of communication. As with any form of communication the individual has a choice as to whether he or she listens. Until current research is complete, all we will be left with are results rather than explanations.

The body needs more than science to be healthy. It needs to be in a natural and balanced state. Literally hundreds of thousands of people have received relief from alte
ative therapies such as acupuncture and chiropractic therapy, well before there were scientific studies to prove it worked. Why not be open to the possibility that your body needs more than science to be npain free. Maybe with the right suggestions, some exercise and proper nutrition you can rid yourself of pain.

1.Kate Montgomery quotes Fred Meyer, M.D., an orthopedic surgeon of Phoenix, Arizona as saying, The surgical success nrate for [Carpal Tunnel Syndrome] is only 54 to 56%, and additional surgeries are required in about 10% of the cases.
9 At best, there will be up to as much as six months loss of time.

The only solution for these problems is surgery. That is the main reason why the skill of an international
